It is with much regret that that our Clothes Swap due to take place on September 5th has been postponed.

Due to a number of unforeseeable circumstances, the decision has been made to postpone the event until 2027. We did not make this decision lightly and are extremely sorry to all for any inconvenience caused.

In the meantime, we will continue our commitment to slow fashion and to a more sustainable approach to fashion. Every contribution however small helps reduce waste, extend the life of clothing, and make a positive impact on our planet.

Keep your clothes in use for longer, through mending, sharing, swapping and borrowing 🩷

This news is encouraging for the growing number of people who don't want to buy clothing that's made under questionable conditions using textiles that pollute the planet!! Well done New York and London stock exchanges!! 👏

It's been reported that ultra-fast fashion company SHEIN, set to list on the Hong Kong stock exchange next month, has been forced to lower its own valuation from nearly $100 billion to almost $27 billion... after it was blocked from listing on the stock market in New York, and then in London, because regulators were concerned over forced labour and supply chain questions. 👕

There's a long way to go before companies like SHEIN, which create huge profit by exploitation, are unable to do business at all anymore. But we believe in celebrating the small wins, so we know to keep up the pressure!

This is your reminder not to shop ultra-fast fashion and tell your friends, too!

Shop mindfully, avoid fast fashion and support businesses that put people and the planet first.

Join us at our upcoming Clothes Swap on September 5th and together we can make fashion more sustainable 🩷

A clothes swap is basically a party where everyone brings clothes they don’t wear anymore and trades them for something new 🩷

For example: You bring a shirt you’ve outgrown. Someone else brings a jacket they never wear. You swap, and suddenly your “old” clothes are someone else’s new favourite outfit 🩷

No shopping required, and clothes get a second life 🌱

It’s a fun and sustainable way to refresh your wardrobe, reduce waste, and give pre-loved clothes a new home 🩷

We’re buying too much, wearing things for too little time, and sending millions of clothes to waste.

The good news? We can do something about it, together 🩷

🩷 SWAP, DON’T SHOP! 🩷

Join us for our community clothes swap and give your pre-loved clothes a second (or third, or fourth!) life. Help us to keep good clothes in circulation and out of landfill.

Because the most sustainable wardrobe is the one we already have. 🌱

Join us on Saturday 5th September at 10am, at the Glass House Mountains Hall for a community morning of sustainability and style. Entry fee just $5 with all proceeds supporting the GHM Community Hall.

The morning will feature a short documentary film ‘Textile Mountain, the hidden burden of our textile waste’.

Come along, swap, chat and be part of changing the way we think about clothes.
