Modifyre is the regional Burning Man event for Queensland and northern NSW. These events are built around the core philosophy of Burning Man, an experimental gathering dedicated to creativity and community, held each year in the Nevada desert. Modifyre is not created by a production company as a passive experience sold to consumers. It is created entirely by its participa
nts - individuals and groups just like you - as an interactive immersive experience for the benefit of other participants. There are no corporate sponsors, no stalls, and no spectators. There is you, me, and our imaginations. By pooling our collective resources and skills we create a temporary city, built on a gift economy, fuelled by communal effort, lit with radical thinking, and filled with art, theme camps, performance, music and fire. At the heart of this city is the Bug, pollinating the seeds of our imagination. When the Bug burns these seeds are spread far and wide, lying dormant until they bloom again. When we leave, we dismantle and take the city with us, upholding our commitment to Leave No Trace.
