🎒 WHAT’S IN YOUR EMERGENCY KIT?

Get Ready Queensland Week is the perfect time to get prepared for storm season! ⛈️

Having an emergency kit ready can make a big difference if severe weather causes power outages, flooding or forces you to leave home.

✅ Your emergency kit should include:

💧 Drinking water (at least 3 days’ supply per person)
🥫 Non-perishable food
💊 Essential medications
🩹 First aid kit
🔦 Torch and spare batteries
📻 Battery-powered radio
🔋 Phone power bank and charging cables
📄 Important documents stored in a waterproof bag
🧼 Personal hygiene items and toiletries
🐾 Food and supplies for your pets

💡 SES tip: Keep your kit somewhere easy to access, check expiry dates regularly, and make sure everyone in your household knows where it is.

Don't wait until a storm is approaching to get organised!

👉 Take 10 minutes today to check your emergency kit.

Last night, combined with State Emergency Service - Kawana group members, we said farewell to one of our valued SES members, Cameron McDonald.

Cameron was celebrated for an incredible 18 years of service with the SES. Cameron has made a hard and emotional decision to leave SES and focus on other endeavours.

18 years is an amazing milestone, and we’re incredibly grateful for the time, commitment and support they have given to our unit and the SES community over the years.

Thank you for being part of our SES family and for the memories, friendships and moments shared along the way. We wish you all the very best for the next chapter!

Thank you for 18 years of service 💙🧡

🏆 WOW! What a night! 🧡

This evening, our Executive Team attended the 2026 Caloundra Community Awards, where we were incredibly proud to be nominated as finalists in the Volunteer Group of the Year category.

We’re so excited to announce that Caloundra SES was selected as the Runner Up! 🎉👏

This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the dedication of our volunteers, who give their time to support our community whenever they’re needed.

A huge thank you to our community for your ongoing support and encouragement — it means so much to us. 🧡

And a special thank you to Kendall Hatcher MP for putting on such a fantastic event celebrating the incredible people and groups that make our community so special.

Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners! 🎉

From all of us at Caloundra SES — thank you! 🧡

🧡🧡R U OK?🧡🧡

🧡 R U OK? — Any Day

In the SES, we look out for each other — on the job and off it.

Sometimes a simple “Are you OK?” can make a bigger difference than we realise. Take a moment to check in with your mates, your crew, your family, your neighbours and those around you.

🗣️ Ask — Have a conversation.
👂 Listen — Be present.
🤝 Encourage — Check in and support.
🧡 Keep in touch — A small check-in can make a big difference.

You don’t need to wait- check in now
