Since 1998, Wishlist with the help of a generous and committed community has raised and directed more than $20 million towards the Sunshine Coast's local health system. Wishlist is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fundraising for the needs of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. Annually we pledge over $1 million towards research projects, medical equipment, support projects,

staff scholarships and education funding. Wishlist is committed to improving local public health services, and one way we do this is through our "wish list" which helps us find donors to fund the equipment needs on the list. All money raised stays on the Sunshine Coast for the benefit of local families.

Today, we’re thankful for the little moments that can make a big difference. 💛 🐾

Meet Newbie, a Wishlist Therapy Dog, powered by Petstock, who visits Caloundra Hospital and Dove House palliative care unit each week with his owner, Karen.

Karen first discovered Newbie’s gift for comforting people when he visited her sick mum in a nursing home. Now, he spends his days bringing cuddles, smiles and a little joy to patients, families and staff.

“He just wants to be with people.”

Thanks to the incredible support of Petstock, the Wishlist Therapy Dog program has more than doubled over the past 12 months, helping bring the comfort of these special dogs to even more people when they need it most.

💙 Today, we’re celebrating an incredible example of what can happen when our community comes together.

Thanks to funds raised through Wishlist Giving Day, we’ve been able to fund new blanket warmers for patients at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Nambour General Hospital - bringing comfort, warmth and a little extra care when it’s needed most.

The idea came from SCUH nurse Fran Brewster, who described a warm blanket as “the next best thing to a warm hug” for patients experiencing pain and anxiety in the Dementia & Delirium Ward.

Each blanket warmer can heat up to 20 blankets at a time, helping create moments of comfort for patients and their families.

A huge thank you to Fran, who raised more than $2,000 herself by running 21 laps around the hospital (the equivalent of a half marathon!), as well as the incredible Nambour Hospital team who fundraised for Wishlist Giving Day, and the sponsorship program.

This is the difference your generosity makes. 💛
Together, we’re creating kinder, more comfortable hospital experiences for our local community. ✨

Today, we’re incredibly thankful for stories like Christine’s.

Eleven months ago, Christine Olsen-Lane suffered a life-changing fall at her Tin Can Bay home, leaving her paralysed. Since then, she’s spent almost every day in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Rehabilitation Ward, working alongside the incredible rehab team to regain her movement and mobility.

This week, Christine rang the special bell that signals a rehab patient is ready to go home. 🔔💛

“I didn’t look back, I didn’t look forward, I just stayed in the day.”

It’s a story of incredible strength, dedication and love, with her husband Peter by her side throughout her recovery.

Peter also stayed at Wishlist’s affordable accommodation during Christine’s treatment, including Wishlist Centre, just across the road from the hospital.

“You couldn’t ask for a better team, or more support, they are second to none.”

This is why Wishlist exists. 💛
