Since 1998, Wishlist with the help of a generous and committed community has raised and directed more than $20 million towards the Sunshine Coast's local health system. Wishlist is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fundraising for the needs of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. Annually we pledge over $1 million towards research projects, medical equipment, support projects, staff scholarships and education funding. Wishlist is committed to improving local public health services, and one way we do this is through our "wish list" which helps us find donors to fund the equipment needs on the list. All money raised stays on the Sunshine Coast for the benefit of local families.

Wishlist is looking for friendly volunteer drivers to help transport patients from Wishlist Reed House Accommodation, next to Nambour General Hospital, to Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Adem Crosby Centre and back again.

💛 This Friday, we’re feeling thankful for the generosity that helps bring better healthcare close to home.

After suffering a stroke, Matt Alexander lost feeling on the left side of his body and faced significant challenges with his mobility. Thanks to a one-armed wheelchair funded by the Buderim Foundation, Matt was able to move around independently, giving him back a little more freedom. Designed for people who can only use one side of their body, the wheelchair allowed Matt to move freely and safely without assistance.

It’s a powerful reminder that the right equipment can make a life-changing difference, helping people regain independence and confidence when they need it most.

A huge thank you to the Buderim Foundation for making this possible, and to everyone who supports Wishlist and helps make better healthcare a reality for our local community. 💛

💛 From being there since the very beginning, to special guest stars, bidding dramas and special family memories - there’s certainly no shortage of stories from 17 years of Wishlist Spring Carnival!

In this video, Dan Sowden from Ray White Maroochydore & Ray White Buderim, Travis Schultz from Travis Schultz & Partners, Luke Meisenhelter from Loanright Financial Services and Caroline Hutchison from GSL Media (MIX FM & 91.9 SEA FM) share some of their favourite Carnival memories.

A home away from home when it matters most 💙

When Paul and his wife June were involved in a frightening car accident, June needed an extended stay in hospital to recover.

For Paul, being close by was important, but finding somewhere affordable to stay while supporting his wife added another layer of stress to an already difficult time.

Wishlist accommodation helped make things a little easier.

Through Wishlist Centre, directly opposite Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Wishlist House, within walking distance of the hospital, and Reed House, next to Nambour Hospital, people facing a health crisis can stay close to the people they love.

🐴 THANKFUL FRIDAY: SAY HELLO TO HALO! 💛

Today, we’re feeling thankful for the little things that can make a big difference.

Halo, the Wishlist Therapy Tiny Horse, recently paid a visit to Sunshine Coast University Hospital and, as you can imagine, he attracted quite a crowd!

Patients and staff lined up for a cuddle, a pat and a little distraction from the hospital environment. And those smiles say it all. 🥰

Therapy animals can help reduce anxiety and bring moments of calm, connection and joy to people going through a tough time.

Halo is one very small horse making a very big difference and we’re so thankful to have him as part of the Wishlist Therapy team. 💛

And if you missed him at SCUH, Halo will be visiting Caloundra Health Service on Thursday, 8 October from 10am–12pm.

💛 This Friday, we’re thankful for a place where young people living with chronic illness can feel understood, supported and, most importantly, not alone.

The Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS) program has a new home at headspace Maroochydore, with fortnightly sessions held on Friday afternoons.

ChIPS brings together young people aged 12–25 who are living with similar health challenges, creating a safe space to share experiences, build resilience and connect with others who genuinely understand what they’re going through.

Because sometimes, having someone who gets it can make all the difference. 💛

Young people can self-refer using the QR code, while healthcare professionals can refer a patient by scanning the QR code or emailing [email protected].

Here’s to creating more support, connection and understanding for young people living with chronic illness on the Sunshine Coast.
