Over the past decade, Ruth has volunteered across almost all aspects of our services 🧡
🗣️ "Originally from Tasmania, my husband and I chose to settle in Buderim 14 years ago. It didn’t take long for me to feel a strong connection to this community, and volunteering at Bloomhill felt like a natural way to give back to a place that has given us so much.
"From driving clients to their medical appointments, to preparing food in the café, and working alongside a wonderful group of talented women sorting and repurposing donated jewellery - each role has offered its own sense of purpose.
"Working in the Op Shop has been a highlight. I’ve loved the connection with the local community, whether it’s helping customers find something special, ensuring items are presented with care and respect, or simply sharing a conversation.
"There are small, joyful moments that stay with you, like watching children light up as they head straight to the toy and book section, or hearing the excitement from the change rooms as someone finds the perfect outfit.
"What truly makes volunteering at Bloomhill so special, though, is the friendships formed along the way.
"Being surrounded by like-minded people, all giving their time with kindness and generosity, it's hard to put into words.
"There’s a shared sense of purpose and warmth that makes every shift feel worthwhile. You get more than you give - and that's certainly been my experience."
