💙💛🎁 HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY, JILLI! 🎁💛💙

Today we celebrate someone incredibly special to our UBNC family 💙💛 Our Life Member, netball legend and one of the women who helped pave the way for generations of netballers. 🏐✨

Jilli’s netball journey began at just 15 years old in regional Victoria. Over the past 75 YEARS, she has played, coached, umpired, mentored and helped grow netball across Victoria and Queensland, including being heavily involved in netball pathways, clubs, coaching and umpiring. 💙💛

But Jilli didn’t just play the game. She helped create the game we have today. At a time when women’s sport wasn’t given the opportunities, recognition or importance it deserved, Jilli was one of the women who stood up and made things happen. She brought women together, built teams, fought for places to play and continued to advocate for women and girls in sport. She helped make netball matter, and in doing so, helped pave the way for the opportunities so many of us have today. 💛💙

In 2012, Jilli was named the inaugural Telstra NetMum, winning both the Queensland and Australian awards. 🏆🎁 An incredible recognition of her lifelong contribution to our sport.

But honestly, what we’ve mentioned here is just the tip of the iceberg. 💙

If you ever get the chance, sit down and have a chat with Jilli. Her stories give you a glimpse into just how much has changed in women’s sport and netball, and just how much she has helped make those opportunities possible. 🏐💛

And she’s still doing what she loves. 💙💛

Every Saturday, from 8am until the last game, you’ll find Jilli around our courts, watching our teams, supporting our players and getting to as many games as she can.

At 90 years old! ❤️🎂

Jilli, you are such a huge part of the fabric of UBNC. We are incredibly lucky to have you, and even luckier that after 75 years of giving to netball, you’re still sitting on the sideline cheering us on. 💙💛

💙💛 FAREWELL ZOE 💛💙

This year didn’t quite go the way Zoe had hoped.

After an injury ruled her out of playing, Zoe sadly didn’t get to take the court for the final season of her Junior Netball journey. But rather than stepping away from the game she loves, Zoe found another way to be part of it.

She came on board as a coach, taking on the challenge of helping guide one of our teams through the season.

While it wasn’t the final playing season she had imagined, we’re so grateful that Zoe chose to spend her last year of Junior Netball with us, just in a different role.💙💛

💙💛 GOODBYE & GOOD LUCK, MADISON, CLOE, NAKITA, SOPHIE, NEVE & LAILAH! 💛💙

This weekend we said farewell six very special UBNC girls as they played their last game of Junior Netball. 🥹

For many of these girls, UBNC has been part of their netball journey for years, and we’ve had the absolute privilege of watching them grow through the years into the players and young women they are today. 💙💛

We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved representing UBNC, or playing representative netball, or pursuing pathways towards professional netball, or umpiring, or coaching and, most importantly, always putting their hands up to help wherever they could. 💙💛

They’ve each made a huge impact on our club, and while their Junior Netball chapter is coming to an end, we really hope this isn’t goodbye for good.

We can’t wait to see them back around UBNC, whether that’s coaching, mentoring, running clinics, helping out, managing teams or simply dropping in to say hello. There will always be a place for them here. 🥰

We’re going to miss you all more than you know, girls. 🫶

Thank you for everything you’ve given to UBNC, and best of luck for everything that comes next, both on and off the court. 💙💛

And just like that… Round 14 is done and dusted! 🥹🏐

What an awesome 2026 season it has been! Our final round was the perfect way to finish the regular season, with plenty of smiles, team spirit and some very special team photos along the way. 📸💙💛

Farewell, ISSY! 💙💛

Saturday marked the end of an era, with ISSY playing her final game of Junior Netball and officially ageing out of juniors.

It has been such a pleasure having ISSY as part of the UBNC family. She has brought her own wonderful mix of personality, energy and plenty of laughs to our club over the years. Whether she was having a quiet moment or letting that bigger personality shine through, Issy has always been authentically herself and that’s what we’ll remember most. 💙

We’re so grateful for the memories, the smiles and the moments that have made Issy such a special part of our club.

We hope you’ve had an amazing junior netball journey, Issy, and we hope it’s not the last we see of your beautiful smiling face around the courts! 💛

This Saturday, Caloundra District Netball Association’s Youth Advisory Board is supporting Headspace Caloundra with their Charity Day, raising money for youth mental health.

Now, we know green isn’t exactly a UBNC colour! 💙💛😂😂😂😂
So,given it’s Finals if you’re not keen to swap your blue and yellow for green, that’s absolutely ok………..there are plenty of other ways we can show our support.

A Great Night of Coaching 🏐💙💛

A HUGE thank you to our friends at Netball Revolution for coming out and putting our coaches through an awesome coaching session on a Monday night!

We learnt some seriously valuable drills, picked up loads of new ideas and walked away with so many things we can take straight back to our teams. Every one of our coaches was saying the same thing… “We’re going to use ALL of these!” 😂

It was such a great session and we can’t wait to put the drills into practice with our teams.💛💙

A special thank you also goes to our UBNC players Zoe, Lacey, Myra, Emily and Lily, who gave up their Monday evening to come along and be our demonstrators. 💙💛
