Something to think about today...What is something that may support you this week?

Sometimes have small plans or tools in place can assist how we may be able to approach the week- especially within recovery.

💙 Announcing our Maroochydore Rugby Union Club Ladies Day Charity Partner: End ED 💙

Each year we choose a local Sunshine Coast charity close to our hearts, and this year we are so proud to support endED, a registered charity providing community-based support services for people affected by eating disorders and eating issues right here on the Sunshine Coast.

Based in Woombye at their "House of Hope," endED offers group programs, counselling, and recovery support, all grounded in lived experience and co-designed with their community. Their mission is simple and powerful: no one should have to navigate recovery alone. 💙

Here's how you can help at Ladies Day:
🎟️ Donate to endED when you purchase your ticket (available via the link in the Facebook event)
🎁 Donate a prize for our raffle & auction - 100% of funds raised go directly to endED
🛍️ Bid big, raffle hard, and know every dollar makes a difference locally

We're also calling on local businesses and individuals to donate prizes so we can make this our biggest fundraiser yet! Reach out to us if you'd like to contribute.

Together, we can make a real difference. 🩵

Recovery is about so much more than appearance and is not simply about restoring physical health, it is also about rebuilding identity, self-worth, trust and safety outside of appearance-based thinking.

We acknowledge that recovering or healing your relationship with food & body can be especially difficult with many people returning to environments filled with diet culture, comparison, and messaging that ties worth to body size or appearance.

Recovery looks different for every person. The focus should be on how someone feels and functions, not how they look.

World Eating Disorders Action Day

Days like these are incredibly important in creating awareness, reducing stigma and providing an opportunity for individuals or families to become more familiar with what eating disorders are, and the various ways they may present in the community.

By creating an increased awareness can support individuals or loved ones to access the support they need.

At endED we believe 'there is hope for recovery'. endED sits alongside many organisations & charities, and want to honour the wonderful work done in this space. If you are based in Queensland, Australia and are navigating eating disorder recovery or are caring for someone in recovery...Connect with us via our website and this may also answer some of your questions

When have you taken a step [that you thought you never would?]

Recovery often requires us taking steps that we never knew we could, and often these steps are ones that we build up so much anticipation and fear surrounding.

In recovery we should never have to take these steps on our own, and having a team of support can help in breaking down these steps to make them more doable, whilst also providing a sense of accountability.

Self-care can be a unique or different experience for everyone! A type of self-care that can be under-valued is 'taking rest'.

In a society that praises 'productivity' or 'doing', we can sometimes feel like rest needs to be "earned".

However, let us remind you that taking rest is important, even before you feel "exhausted" or "burnt out".

We cannot pour from an empty cup.

Recovery is a journey that can begin with elements of safety, and can also be important to explore how these steps can then be taken in a community or social setting.

This may involve brainstorming different strategies with your team and bring in different types of support around you.

Generally, when we are trying a new skill or strategy, this can take time to adapt to [and that is ok].

However, there can be many moments where we may think we are actually "failing" or "not trying hard enough"...

Where the reality is we are actually 'learning' and this is a process that can take time!

Let this be your reminder that you are learning [not failing].
