We’re delighted to support Tamara from Forged in Stroud as she revives the art of blacksmithing from our historic sheds behind Stroud Courthouse.

🔥You can catch Tamara at the forge most Sundays from 11-1pm.

Stepping into this space invokes times long past and it has sat unused for many years. I am honoured that the Stroud & District Historical Society has let me open it up and start to restore and use this space. I have spent the past couple of months to get the forge working and fixing tools and learning the basics and am now working with the Society on a plan that will mean we can open these historic sheds to the public, keep the fire burning and inspire future generations to learn and continue the craft of blacksmithing.

Great news 👏

🙏 A big thankyou to Yancoal for their generous seed funding through their Community Support Program, helping to bring Stroud’s bicentenary to life.

We were delighted to recently welcome Yancoal’s Jarrad Galvin to town, where he met up with Veronica Frost from the Stroud 200 Bicentenary committee. Support like this will help make this milestone one we can all be proud of.

Thanks again Yancoal, for backing Stroud and our bicentenary. 👏
