A highlight this week leading up to ANZAC Day has been seeing our local schools reflecting on the ANZAC spirit of mateship, courage, service and sacrifice. This year, Duncraig Primary School has focussed on the role of the families who support those who serve. And I was honoured for the opportunity to speak with the children to share some of the experiences of myself and my wife Peta, who also served.

Thank you U.S. Consulate Perth for hosting us last night. As an alumni of the U.S. International Visitor Leadership Program, I reflected upon my own engagement with America, its people and institutions, including Defense.

Australia’s engagement in our region and in the world will continue to include dialogue - and in many cases cooperation with - long standing allies like the U.S.

Thank you Indonesian Consulate General Perth for hosting our Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth AGM tonight!

It was also great to be joined by Shadow Education Minister Liam Staltari MLA who heard about the benefits and importance of Indonesian language teaching in our WA schools.
