Local businesses. Local people. A national show.
We’re proud to have some fantastic national sponsors behind the Australian Small Winemakers Show — but this year, we want to shine a special light on the local businesses that help make the show what it is.
The ASWS has been part of the Granite Belt for 40 years. It’s grown into a nationally recognised wine event, but at its heart, it is still a local show, run by local people.
Around 50 local volunteers give their time to make the weekend happen. From setting up, judging and pouring, to welcoming visitors, exhibitors and judges to the region and helping behind the scenes. At the ASWS Public Tasting, the person pouring your wine could well be your neighbour, a local business owner, a winemaker or someone who has volunteered for years.
And that matters.
Because when you ask about a wine, you’re not just talking to someone who has been handed a bottle and a script. You’re talking to people who know and love truly independent wine from regions all around the country, but also know the Granite Belt and genuinely care about the region as a future wine Mecca.
This year, as we celebrate 40 years, we want to showcase the businesses that have supported this community along the way.
Local businesses. Local volunteers. Small independent winemakers. One great Granite Belt tradition.
If you’re a local business and would like to get behind the 40th Australian Small Winemakers Show, we’d love to have you involved and the cost is less than a pub lunch for two.
