ANZAC Day in Stanthorpe – Special Flypast 🛩️

During the ANZAC Day mid‑morning service in Stanthorpe, spectators will be treated to a truly memorable moment - a replica Spitfire flypast, flown by pilot Mark Appo, over High Street.

📅Saturday 25 April
⏰Between 10:30am and 11:00am
📍Stanthorpe – High Street

This impressive low‑level flypast is designed to honour our service men and women and will be a highlight of the morning. We encourage the community to come along, reflect, and share in this special tribute.

⚠️ Important Safety Notice ⚠️
Because the aircraft will be flying lower than standard Air Force operations, Council advises that drones must NOT be used in the Stanthorpe main town area during this time. This is essential to ensure the safety of pilots, spectators, and the wider community.

Just sharing in case it’s been a while since you last baked. Anzac biscuits are nice chewy but I personally like crunchy….just saying 😊

In honour of courage, in memory of sacrifice — Lest We Forget.

Aussie bakers, try our viral ANZAC Day biscuits and let us know your thoughts!

27 mins I serves 16-18.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup plain flour
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup desiccated coconut
3/4 cup sugar
150g unsalted butter
1/3 cup (80ml) golden syrup
2 tsp Queen Organic Vanilla Extract
1 tsp bicarbonate soda

METHOD
1. Preheat oven to 160C (fan-forced) and line a baking tray with baking paper. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl, making a well in the centre. Set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine butter and golden syrup, bring to a light simmer. Remove from the heat and add bi-carb soda and Vanilla Extract. Mix until combined.
3. Roll into large tbsp. sized balls and place on baking tray 5cm apart. Bake for 12 minutes. Allow to cool on tray for 10 minutes before moving to a wire tray to cool completely

Recipe Tips:
If you want your Anzac biscuits:

Soft & Chewy ➡️ bake 10 minutes
Chewy with crunchy edges➡️ bake 12-13 minutes
Crispy with slightly chewy centre ➡️ bake 15 minutes
Crispy ➡️ bake 16-17 minutes
