The Stanley Landcare Committee are pleased to share the Landcare Victoria 2026 Annual Report and to thank everyone in the community who contributed to initiatives and/or attended events through the past year!
The projects conducted across the Stanley area have been particularly rewarding, and include those which have helped to revitalise our local environment, combat introduced weeds using new initiatives, enable numerous planting/revegetation events, and a range of other events to increase engagement within the community.
Landcare Victoria have highlighted the following items from the Annual Report:
In 2025, we achieved record participation and economic impact
We supported 89,669 Victorians in taking environmental action โ more than doubling the participation seen in 2024
Our volunteers contributed an estimated 591,559 hours, delivering a $31.2 million economic boost to the State of Victoria
We were proud to deliver landscape-scale restoration
We concluded the three-year "New Futures for Victorian Landcare" pilot, delivering co-designed Landscape Action Plans covering 1.75 million hectares. This project successfully moved the focus from individual blocks to collective landscape goals across four pilot regions
And we helped achieve direct on ground result
Our Planting event mobilised 360 volunteers who dedicated over 1,000 hours to restoration work
We successfully planted 10,400 native tubestock across nine satellite locations in Melbourne, partnering with groups like Melbourne Water, Creative Climate and MapCo to bridge cultural programming with land-based care
At the same time, we unlocked additional support for our movement
Landcare Victoria provided $2.56 million in total resources for local groups, including insurance savings and tax-deductible gifts
$17.3 million was allocated in the State Budget for Landcare and Coastcare programs over two years
