Alex Read Theatre The future of creativity is inextricably linked to technology. We believe that technology empowers creativity.

We’re dedicated to helping creatives not only understand the technological forces shaping their industries but also to adapt their skills and embrace the transformative potential... We aim to bridge the gap between artistic vision and technological innovation by supporting targeted education, practical resources, and a supportive community. Our aim is to equip creatives with the skills and knowledge to not just adapt to change, but to lead the way in shaping the future of their fields.

A story that resonates and matters - echoing across unseen spaces around the country and the world.

This article speaks of a humble beginning and a powerful coming together. Now, so many years later, their vision and purpose remain rock solid, but they need our community’s support.

While they will always forge a path forward, this pivotal moment reminds us that turning a vision into reality takes more than a dream. It takes hard work, a strong community, and people willing to share the journey.

Help The Black Wreath continue as they turn up the volume! Please share and support as they rock on! 🤘

Live music in one of the most isolated spots on the planet deserves our support! 🤘

The Black Wreath in Alice Springs is far more than just a venue — for over a decade, it’s served as a vital creative hub, record label, and community space for independent artists and heavy music culture in Central Australia (including hosting Blacken Open Air).

They are currently raising funds via Pozible to purchase their building and secure a permanent home for the local music scene.

(Thanks Brett for shining the light on this one for us! 🙏)

Please take a moment to read Jesse Falk's article, share the campaign, and donate if you can to keep live music thriving in the heart of Australia.

🤍 Please Note: The following video contains images of our beloved venue which has now closed, as well as treasured members of our community who have sadly passed away. We share this to honour their memory and celebrate our history.

🕊️ Honouring a Legacy, Pivoting Our Future: Support Alex REaD Theatre Performances Inc.

The loss of our beloved physical home, the Alex Theatre, was a heavy blow. The passing of our visionary founder left an even deeper void in our hearts. But if the theatre taught us anything, it’s that great stories don't end when the curtain falls, they transform.

While we no longer have our physical stage, Alex REaD Theatre Performances Inc. is adapting. We are transitioning to focus directly on supporting the broader arts sector, the artists, the creators, and the backstage crew who keep our cultural community alive.

We are turning grief into purpose, and we need your help to write this next chapter.

✨ How you can help keep the legacy alive:

Support our mission: Help us fund new initiatives designed to uplift and support the arts sector during times of transition.

Spread the word: Share this post to let local artists and theatre lovers know that we are still here, fighting for them.

The physical theatre may be gone, but the mission remains. The show must go on. 🌟 (Look, we tried everything to keep those theatre doors open. The passion was there, the scripts were ready, but turns out "artistic vision" doesn't pay the rent and the bank manager won this round. Rematch pending...) 👉 Learn more, donate, and join our new journey here: https://www.artperformances.org.au/
