🌈✨ RhED at ChillOut Festival 2025! ✨🌈

ChillOut is more than just a festival—it’s a celebration of pride, resilience, and community in the heart of regional Victoria! 🎉 As the biggest and longest-running Country Q***r Pride event in Australia, ChillOut has been bringing together the rural LGBTIQ+ community, artists, and allies for 25 years.

This Sunday, 9th March, RhED will be at ChillOut with a stall, and we’d love to see you there! 🏳️‍🌈💜 Come say hi, grab some of our iconic "S*x Work is Work" tote bags, stickers, and badges, or chat with our team about the supports available to s*x workers in regional Victoria.

Whether you’re here to party, connect, or learn more about s*x worker rights, we’re here for it! See you in Daylesford! 🎭💃

Yesterday was International S*x Workers' Rights Day—a day to honour the resilience and advocacy of s*x workers worldwide.

This day commemorates the demonstration where 25,000 s*x workers gathered against the proposed shut-down of the 2001 Kolkata S*x Worker Freedom Festival, despite attempts to silence them. S*x workers mark this day across the globe and continue to fight for decriminalisation and labour rights.

Here in Victoria, most s*x workers are able to work in a decriminalised setting, however we are still lacking full decriminalisation for street-based s*x workers. Many s*x workers around Australia don't share the same rights, and decriminalisation is still needed in;
• Western Australia
• Tasmania
• South Australia
• ACT
Even when decriminalisation exists, stigma still limits access to rights and protections.

S*x workers are workers. S*x workers’ rights are human rights.

Today is International Day to End Violence Against S*x Workers, a day of recognition & reflection; a marked moment where we can commemorate s*x worker lives lost to violence, & reflect on structures in society that condone or perpetuate s*x work stigma, discrimination & violence.

🧡Our RhED team recently attended the Southern Homelessness Services Network, a vital event focused on collaborative efforts to end homelessness. This network acts as a bridge between the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and service providers, working together to address emerging issues and trends that inform policy and strengthen the coordinated homelessness service system in the best interests of our clients.

🙌At the networking expo, RhED hosted a stall and received an overwhelming response from over 150 attendees representing external organisations that also support clients experiencing homelessness. We were thrilled to see how many practitioners were already familiar with RhED, and our resources were eagerly taken with the red umbrella badge being the most popular.

🏠Our staff took the opportunity to educate practitioners on the referral pathways to our program and highlighted the benefits of our holistic, wraparound support services.

🏘A key takeaway from the event was that we all have the opportunity to voice change and we encourage you to check out https://www.shsnetwork.online/help-end-homelessness to see how you can make a difference even if its small!
