Today I was thinking about this classic question that most of us find triggering - “What are you in right now?”

The issue here is that it sets up the actor as an employee rather than an artist.
You get to choose which attitude you take and you don’t need to write your own work to call yourself an artist.

“What are you working on at the moment?” Empowers you to choose so@thing you’re interested in - I’m working on my version of Hamlet. I’m investigating a villain character who’s actually kind. I’m learning the works of Tennessee Williams leading roles - Whatever, that’s the beauty of it just because you’re not in a job doesn’t mean you don’t get to act.
