From De Savannah to St. James as junior masqueraders play mas

Yet another day is set aside for the Junior masqueraders as the St. James Working Council in collaboration with the St. James Community Improvement Committee stages its 33rd edition on Sunday February 12 from 1:00pm to 6:00 pm
The competition is open to all junior masqueraders and bands who will have the opportunity to showcase themselves as they parade along the Western Main Road, St. James, from Long Circular Road (Courts) to the St. James Amphitheatre & Park for judging, before continuing to George Cabral Street St Mary's Church).
Among the categories being contested are King and Queen of the Day, Band of the Year (Open), Individual of the Year Male and Female, Best Use of Local Material and Theme, Best Traditional Carnival Band and Best St, James Band.
This year will see the addition of the Yvonne Mungal Challenge Trophy for the presentation adjudged “Band of the Year” donated by The St James Community Improvement Committee.
Registration daily until Friday February 10 at 6 Quamina Street, (between Brunton Road & Mooneram Street) between the hours of 12 noon and 6:00pm.
Masqueraders and the general public are invited to St. James after the judging of the Junior Kings, Queens & Individuals at the Savannah where the activity continues.
The St. James Children’s Carnival Parade is another National Carnival Commission Regional Carnival assisted event.
