👖 Denim for a Cause! 👖

If the St Helens team looks a little different today, it’s because we’ve traded our uniforms for denim to support Jeans for Genes Day! 🧬💙

We're helping raise vital awareness for the Children's Medical Research Institute and the incredible work they do researching childhood genetic diseases.

Help us spread the word! 🫶

Spilling the beans (and the coffee) for Allyship! ☕✨

This morning, the team headed out for a caffeine hit to celebrate International Day of Allyship (officially August 8th)

Allyship isn't just a warm and fuzzy feeling; it’s about standing together and turning good vibes into real action.

Every community gains when individuals support each other. Inclusivity brings out fresh ideas, better teamwork, and happier lives for all.

Your 3-step challenge for today (should you choose to accept it):

💬 Break the bubble: Grab a cuppa with someone outside your usual crew. Swap stories, ask questions, and just listen.

📣 Be a megaphone: Notice bias? Call it out. See someone doing awesome work? Shout it from the rooftops! Small acts create massive waves.

🤝 Show up on purpose: Support others intentionally, loudly, and often.

Let's keep brewing a community where everyone feels they belong. After all, we are stronger together! 💪

St Helens / St Marys Community Bank wish to advise that we have recently renewed our sponsorship agreement with Break O'Day Council for the Bendigo Bank Community Stadium. We are committed to being part of the provision of this great facility where many of our sporting community and community events are held on a regular basis.
Mayor Michael Tucker, our Branch Manager Mel Von see and Chair Steve Walley are pictured below acknowledging this further milestone showing our continued support of our great community here in St Helens and the Break O'Day area.

Tax time scams are often impersonation scams where criminals pretend to be from the ATO, myGov, or even your accountant. They know businesses are expecting to lodge statements and handle potential refunds, and they exploit this to steal information or money.

We were pleased to provide a bursary award to Max Gorham - a student at St Marys District High School as part of our bursary award presentation in December, 2025, Max has provided an update of his efforts so far working towards his preferred career goal as follows:-

When I applied for this Bursary last year, I expressed an interest in becoming an engineer in the Australian Defence Force, particularly in the area of aerospace engineering. This is still an area that interests me because I have always enjoyed problem solving, science, mathematics, and understanding how complex systems work. I have also been interested in the idea of serving the community and contributing to something larger than myself.

This bursary award has enabled me to purchase stationery and textbooks for my studies without added financial stress, which has been greatly appreciated.

Currently in school I am studying Physical Sciences, Mathematics Methods 3, English 3 and Automotive and Mechanical Technologies 2. These subjects are helping me build my analytical and problem-solving skills and are giving me a strong foundation for engineering-related pathways.

Outside of school, I have continued to develop my interests in engineering, technology, sustainability, and personal growth. I have also been exploring ideas for projects and developing practical skills that could be useful in my future career.

Although the past year has been challenging at times, it has also helped me mature and reflect on what is important to me. I still feel positive about pursuing a career that allows me to solve problems, help people, and continue learning, whether that is through engineering in the Defence Force or another engineering pathway.
I am very grateful for the support provided through the bursary, and it has encouraged me to continue working hard towards my goals and keeping my options open as I move closer to making decisions about my future.
