School holidays are the perfect time to practise your home fire escape plan 🏠🚒

✅Practise the two quickest ways out of every room
✅Know how you'll exit from upstairs if your home has a second storey
✅Have an agreed meeting place outside, like the letterbox
✅Know how you will you call Triple Zero (000)

As the temperatures drop, staying warm safely becomes more important than ever this winter ❄️🔥

Never leave heaters running while you sleep, overnight heating can quickly become a serious fire risk for you and your family.

Winter safety reminders:
🔥 Turn heaters off before bed
🔥 Keep heaters at least 1 metre from bedding, curtains and furniture
🔥 Never dry clothes directly on heaters
🔥 Check your smoke alarms are working

A warm home should also be a safe home. 🚒

Love a candle-lit dinner… or just love candles in general? 🕯️✨

Candles might create a cosy atmosphere but they can also become a serious fire risk if not used safely.

If you’re using candles or any open flame in the home:
🔥 Never leave them unattended
🔥 Keep them away from curtains, bedding and decorations
🔥 Blow them out before leaving the room or going to sleep
🔥 Keep them out of reach of children and pets

And most importantly, make sure you have working smoke alarms installed throughout your home, especially in areas where flames or heaters may be used.

A little ambience isn’t worth risking your home or your family’s safety. 🚒
