It’s Okay to Ask for Support 💙 Men’s mental health matters 🫂

Holding a family together isn’t easy—especially with the rising cost of living and increasing fuel prices.

So how do we better support men and young apprentices in the construction industry when it comes to mental health and workplace challenges?

It was a privilege to connect with the team at
MATES in Construction in QLD 🚧—a nation wide charity providing 24/7 support for workers and families doing it tough or facing distressing situations.

If you notice someone who might need a chat or could benefit from their program, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Visit: mates.org.au
Or call their field officer on 1300 642 111 (Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm).

The annual 2026 Multicultural Health Symposium what an eye-opening and enriching experience! ✨

As a health, community, and mental health advocate, I deeply appreciate all the research and findings from universities, public health hospitals and cohorts.

I’m very grateful to have contributed to projects on topics including:

💬 Gaps in Queensland public hospital interpreter services

🌐 Breaking communication and language barriers

🤖 Integrating AI translation: benefits & risks

🧭 Patient navigation for CALD communities affected by cancer

👩‍⚕️ Nurse-led triage tools improving care for immigrants

✊ Racism in healthcare

⚖️ Equitable access to healthcare services

With Brisbane’s growing population, healthcare reform takes time, but I hope this marks the beginning of a better and more inclusive healthcare system! 🌿

I also felt very fortunate to meet many passionate young healthcare professionals and researchers, who will be the future pillars of our healthcare system. 🌟

I look forward to more opportunities for collaboration and shared learning, working together to create positive change for community health! 💪💛
