Coats for the Homeless is a national project supporting people sleeping rough in every state and territory across Australia. Through our dedicated network of volunteers and partner organisations, warm coats are distributed directly to those who need them most.
One of our valued partners is Dave Kelly (pictured right), Principal of Solutions 4 Cleaning in South East Queensland. Dave and his team begin work in the early hours of the morning, cleaning commercial premises across the region. Along the way, they often encounter people experiencing homelessness, sleeping in doorways, back alleys, and around public facilities.
Recognising that his staff were uniquely placed to help, Dave partnered with the Order of Malta to assist with the distribution of coats to those doing it tough. A regular point of contact for the team is at public amenities near boat ramps throughout the Gold Coast and Logan areas, where they can offer practical support and a little warmth.
This is the second year that Solutions 4 Cleaning has worked alongside the Order of Malta, helping ensure our coats reach people who truly need them.
