Too many patients in Gold Coast hospitals receive no visitors or flowers. We decided something needed to be done. We want to be part of a community that ensures everyone feels cared for, particularly when they are sick or struggling. Community Blooms, a Mudgeeraba based not-for-profit organization, was born to deliver comfort and connection to those in need. Specifically, what we do:

ooms re-purposes donated (often second-hand) flowers and gifts them to those isolated in hospital, hospice and refuge situations
•We actively seek flower donations from within our community and encourage community members to grow and donate flowers from their gardens.
•We clean, sort and rebuild, where necessary, donated, second-hand arrangements. (Imagine knowing all those excess flowers from that big event are being put to such good use the next day!)
•We interface with hospital, hospice and refuge staff to ensure flowers go to recipients with the greatest need
•We recruit volunteers to assist in collecting, arranging and delivering
