Men of Business The MOB Academy caters for boys in Years 11 & 12

25/06/2026

This term, our Year 7, 11 and 12 students took part in Bridge & Back: I Got Your Back, a shared walk to raise awareness around men’s mental health.

Before we headed off, we spoke about the importance of noticing when a mate isn’t quite themselves, having the confidence to check in, and knowing it’s okay to ask for help yourself.

The 3km walk represented three simple reminders:

🖤 Check in with a mate.
🖤 Speak up.
🖤 Have their back.

At MOB, we believe the strongest communities are built when people look out for one another. Days like this are a reminder that sometimes the smallest actions, checking in, listening, or simply walking alongside someone, can make all the difference.

What a term it’s been for our Year 11 lads. Over eight weeks, they got to walk into eight completely different worlds - drones, games development, cyber security, space innovations, hardware and networking, film and TV, and entrepreneurship.

The Tech Taster Program gave every single one of them the chance to sit in front of a real industry professional and think about what their future could look like. Some of them walked in with no idea and walked out with a direction

Watching these boys light up in rooms they’d never been in before is exactly why we do what we do. 🖤

A huge thank you to everyone who generously donated their time, knowledge and experience to make this program possible:

🔹 Brett Lyndon (KJR) – Droning
🔹 David Rudduck (ExpansionX Partners) & Simon Costello (CASPA) – AI & MSP Life
🔹 Pablo Farias (Zenva) – Games Development
🔹 Carla Tuckey – Cyber Security
🔹 Debby Lo-Dean (Orbit2Orbit) – Space Innovation
🔹 Beau Tydd (ACS) & Paul Walters (Event Nimble) – Hardware & Networking
🔹 Dean Ellis (Rec4Tech | Top Tech Talent) – Job Readiness
🔹 Kirk Reynoldson (Eggy) & Jason Atkins (Cake) – Entrepreneurship

Thank you for investing in the next generation and helping our young men see what their futures could look like. 🖤

Regional Champions | MOB Futsal

A huge congratulations to our futsal boys who recently competed in the Australian Futsal Association South Brisbane Regional Titles.

The team went undefeated throughout the tournament and were crowned Grand Final winners and Regional Champions. 🏆

What stood out most wasn’t just the result. It was the way the boys represented themselves throughout the day. Teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship and mateship were on display from the first whistle to the last.

This result secures their place at the AFA Queensland State Titles next term and we couldn’t be prouder.

Well done boys. Bring on States. ⚽

YOUR MATE IS HAVING A ROUGH TIME. NOW WHAT?

A lot of people want to help when a mate opens up, but get stuck trying to find the perfect thing to say. Men's Mental Health Week is a reminder that looking out for your mates doesn't have to be complicated.
