We’re so excited to partner with the oldest charity in Qld, The Lady Musgrave Trust by funding the land purchase and construction costs of the 7 units for young mums and their children here on the Gold Coast. Thanks Victoria Parker for your tenacity in getting the project off to a great start. Looking forward to collaborating the planning and building with The Lady Musgrave Trust, McNab Gold Coast, Modnpods, Gold Coast Youth Service and the young mums in need of safe and supportive housing. 💜

When RFDS' first pilot took off from Cloncurry on 17 May 1928, he was flying a single engine, timber and fabric bi-plane named Victory. The first pilot, Arthur Affleck, had no navigational aids, no radio and only a compass. He navigated by landmarks such as fences, rivers, river beds, dirt roads or just wheel tracks and telegraph lines. He also flew in an open cockpit, fully exposed to the weather, behind the doctors cabin. Airstrips were, at best, claypans or, at the worst, hastily cleared paddocks. Flights were normally made during daylight hours although night flights were attempted in cases of extreme urgency.

Fast forward almost 100 years, and RFDS Queensland Section – which has 9 operational bases and services over 2.1 million people living in rural & remote Qld, has an optimum pilot requirement of 80 pilots.

Our Foundation is proud to support the RFDS Queensland Section develop the next generation of aeromedical pilots through their RAMP program.

Welcome aboard 👨‍✈️ Dan, and thanks for joining the amazing 600 plus RFDS Queensland Section staff, volunteers and supporters who provide a lifeline for those that live, work and travel in rural and remote Queensland. ♥️ ♥️

Thanks Martin & team Wounded Heroes for providing much needed practical support to our veterans. 🩵

On behalf of the Board, staff, volunteers and, most importantly, the veterans and families we support, I wanted to personally thank the James Frizelle Charitable Foundation for your continued belief in Wounded Heroes Australia and the work we do.
Your support has had a very real impact.
Through Homeless Heroes, your funding has helped us respond when veterans and their families are facing some of their most difficult moments — homelessness or the immediate risk of homelessness, financial crisis and circumstances where practical assistance simply cannot wait.
Through Horses4Heroes, you have helped us provide a very different but equally important form of support. The program gives veterans and their families a safe, non-clinical environment where they can rebuild confidence, trust, resilience and connection through engagement with our horses and the wider veteran community.
What we continue to learn is that there is rarely one single issue affecting a veteran in crisis. Mental health, housing, financial hardship, family pressures and social isolation are often interconnected. Having the capacity to provide both immediate crisis intervention and longer-term opportunities for connection and recovery is incredibly important.
The Foundation's support over the last 5 years, has been about much more than funding two programs. It has allowed us to be there at different points in a veteran's journey — from responding to an immediate crisis to helping someone rebuild confidence, connection and hope for the future.
Demand for our services continues to grow, but so does our determination to ensure that when a veteran or family reaches out, someone is there to respond.
Thank you again, James, Trish & Brett, for your trust in Wounded Heroes Australia and for the very practical difference the James Frizelle Charitable Foundation is making in the lives of Australian veterans and their families.
We are extremely grateful for the partnership and look forward to continuing to work together.
