WPI’s A Home for Her Life Giving Day is now LIVE!

In Australia there are 54,000 women are homeless every night and 70% of Victorian wage earners seeking help for homelessness are women.

Every woman deserves safety, stability and hope. Please help us Create A Home for Her Life.

Today is the day to donate! Every dollar donated today will be tripled by our generous matching partners, giving you three times the impact. We have set a very ambitious goal of $1 million to help us secure the first 15 homes of our 100 new homes for women goal.

Together we can change the lives of women and women led families living in housing crisis.

Thank you to our amazing matching partners: The Edward Wilson Trust, the Hupert Family Foundation, Equality Media and Marketing, The Wood Foundation, and Woodbridge Capital.

Women are now the fastest-growing demographic facing housing insecurity and homelessness. This crisis is disproportionately driven by structural gender inequalities, including the superannuation gap, time taken out of the workforce for unpaid caregiving, and the immediate impacts of family and domestic violence.

Chances are, one of the 54,000 women who don’t have a safe place to sleep each night, is someone you know.

WPI provides secure and affordable homes for women and we see the ways in which a stable home changes lives.

We recently set a goal to deliver 100 new homes for women and their children. And on our Giving Day on 18 June, we are aiming to raise $1 million to secure the first 15 of these 100 homes. That is 15 women who will have A Home for Her Life.

This Giving Day, every donation will be tripled by our generous matching partners, so your impact goes three times further. Together, we can create A Home for Her Life.

After more than a decade in her rental home, Jodie found herself facing eviction and an uncertain future. Behind the walls, hidden mould, water damage and deteriorating conditions were taking a toll. After years of raising concerns and fighting for repairs, she was ultimately forced to leave.

She thought she was going to be homeless. There was really nothing she could afford. And when she did apply her applications for new properties were constantly overlooked. Her physical and mental health was deteriorating.

Now Jodi and her dog, Tango, are happy and safe in a WPI home. The rhythm of life has changed. For the first time she is not living with constant stress. Her story is a powerful reminder of how safe, secure housing changes lives.

$20 becomes $60
$100 becomes $300
Every dollar creates three times the impact

We have set an ambitious goal to raise $1 million in just 12 hours to help secure the first 15 homes in our commitment to deliver 100 new homes for women and children across Victoria.

The women’s homelessness crisis is growing - and so is our commitment to ending it.

At WPI, we believe every woman deserves A Home for Her Life. A safe place to rebuild, recover and thrive.

Today, we’re proud to announce our next ambitious goal: 100 new homes for women and their children.

This comes after surpassing our previous target of 25 homes by 2025 - delivering 30 homes for women in need. But we know the demand is greater, and we know we can do more.

These new homes will support women who need them most, including older women at risk of homelessness and women and children escaping family violence.

On 18 June, our annual Giving Day - A Home for Her Life - will help fund the first 15 homes of this new 100-home vision across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Together, we can create lasting change.

If you’re worried someone you know might be experiencing family violence, it can be hard to know what to do. But you don’t need to be an expert. By just asking, listening and believing, you can make a huge difference.

Family violence continues to impact every community. Whether directly or
indirectly, most of us will encounter its effects in our lifetime. That means we all have a role to play in recognising the signs, responding safely and helping to create communities where violence is not tolerated and those experiencing it are supported.
