Southbank3006 is thrilled to announce that a greening initiative we spearheaded in 2021 is now fully funded, planned and scheduled to begin in 2026. Special thanks to Nina Taylor MP for obtaining state funds and Lord Mayor Nick Reece for making this project a priority. The new ACCA forecourt will create over 800sqm of greening in Southbank, delivering upgraded planting, lawn and seating while still allowing the area to continue its role as a space for creative events and activations. The community is invited to two sessions to hear from the City of Melbourne team about the project:
Sunday 19 October 2025, 2-3pm at Malthouse Theatre in The Bagging Room
Thursday 23 October 2025, 6-7pm at Malthouse Theatre in The Tower Room
