Our partner organisation PEACE Foundation (Permaculture Education and Community Engagement) in Uganda just hosted an amazing permaculture festival for youth - engaging them in cultural events, eco-action, climate discussions, watershed planting and at the same time meeting with district leaders to find ways to myceliate permaculture deeper into the policies of the area.

WOW! I am so excited. I just spoke with a group of young people and their permaculture teacher in Kenya (a member of the Permaculture Education Institute). We were able to fund this course and I just had a chance to ask them about what they are getting from the course and what it means to them. Please watch and share!

Next Lilian will be inviting some of these youth to work with her to run a permaculture design course for some younger teens. We will fund that too - with your help. Just $2usd/person/day can make these courses happen.

A huge collaboration!

I’m so excited to announce that this Thursday, artworks from Permayouth members in Nakivale Refugee Settlement will be exhibited in Sydney!

If you’re around Sydney on the 13th, come and drop in at ‘Making Sense’, we’ll be there!

This exhibition will showcase ‘s works as well as local Australian artists and filmmakers who are exploring a diverse myriad of styles and cultures through their art.

100% of art sales go directly to the artists showcasing their fabulous works!

100% of entry fees, bar tabs and donations will go directly to the young refugee artists in (run by ) to raise funds for microphones and tripods to share their storytelling and artwork to the world.

If you can’t make it but want to support the refugee artists, donating $10 (the entry fee) to .foundation as an ’in spirit entry fee’ will be appreciated beyond words ❤️

Happy world environment day everyone!

Go outside, hug a tree, get stuck into some gardening, revamp your compost, smell the flowers…

This is your reminder to slow down and remember we live in a world full of amazing ecosystems, animals and plants beyond what we see in our daily lives - and also that our lives directly affect them.

We can help the planet flourish - it’s the only one we’ve got! But we need to be aware of it and that we live in the midst of it all.

We can’t take our human habitats, our forests, our environment for granted.

So enjoy your environment day!

Today is International Permaculture Day!

A perfect time to celebrate - learning it, teaching it, thinking it, growing it & eating it!

Here’s a few actions you could do to celebrate:

- plant something new in your garden

- join in the action at a local community garden

- cook up a food feast or picnic with family or friends

- go wild foraging in your neighbourhood

-share your permaculture skills with someone else

- take the plunge and do a permaculture course

I am so grateful for the permaculture movement - thank you for all the wonderful communities created, the ecosystems restored, the gardens planted, the designs drawn, the livelihoods supported, the people nourished and the worldviews regenerated!
