OUR PURPOSE

St. Joseph's Outreach services was formed 1998. Our purpose is to provide temporary emergency and transitioning accommodation, and food services to those in need in the community who are homeless or disadvantaged. All our services are delivered through our very dedicated volunteer team. Our volunteer team is made up of different people from all works of life that come together with a

common goal to help others in need and support each other. OUR PEOPLE

All our services and committees are run by people that volunteer their time and skills to help others in need in the community. All the services we provided rely heavily on the support of financial donations via fund rasing, private donations, corporate and trust donations. We have a very close link the St Joseph's parish and we work closely to provide support services to our community. HOW CAN YOU HELP? JOIN OUR VIBRANT TEAM AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

All our services are delivered through our very dedicated volunteer team. We are always looking for new volunteers to help support the services we provide to the community. WHAT MAKES A GREAT SJOS VOLUNTEER? We need compassionate people who can bring their skills and enthusiasm to the following facets of our organisation.
• fundraising
• preparing acccommodation
• food bank services
• light maintenance services

SJOS 2024 Newsletter Spring Edition
To all our supporters & friends...

Highlights:

Board & Management:
New Board members for 2024/2025 announced.
Strategy Planning Day upcoming on November 10th.

Food Bank:
Increased demand at the Food Store.
Challenges faced due to bakery closures and Woolworths renovations.
Looking for volunteers with large vehicles to collect bread donations (Friday nights) and Foodbank orders (variable schedule).

SJOS Units:
Unit 2 undergoing maintenance and will be ready for a new tenant soon.

Volunteers:
Appreciation for volunteers' dedication, especially Lynn Pool who donates fresh produce from her school garden.
Need for more volunteers to pack bread on Saturdays and collect donations from Woolworths (early mornings).

SJOS Harvest Garden:
Summer crops planted, including lettuce, tomatoes, and herbs.
New bee hive established to harvest honey.
Thanks to a donor for contributing $600 towards the bee hive project.

Activities:
Successful Health Outreach Clinic held in September with medical students from University of Melbourne.
Save the Date: SJOS Volunteers Christmas Party on December 3rd!
