Wow we’re halfway through term 3 already!

So much has been happening at Albert Park Scouts!

We’ve been making the most of the dark evenings to get out and about the local area to do various scouting activities.

Learning survival skills, sleepovers at other scout halls to get ready for Cuboree, cooking, sewing badges on shirts, playground designing and much, much more!

Our Cubs & Joeys had a visit to South Melbourne Fire Rescue this weekend!

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to all the firefighters that took their time to show the kids (and adults) around. They spent so much time letting the kids get in the trucks, use the fire hoses as well as letting the kids sq**rt one of them in a hazmat suit.

It was such a great experience for all. Fire Rescue Victoria

All sections were out in the community today for Scout Fest. We explored local playgrounds discussing and rating them as we went with the patrol leaders.

Happy World Scouts Day!!

‘Today, Scouts across Victoria and all around the world are out and about, and we could not be prouder. This is ScoutFest on World Scout Day, our biggest day of visibility for the year, and it is happening in Halls, parks, pools, climbing gyms and main streets right across the state.

It all began 119 years ago. On this day in 1907, Baden-Powell's experimental camp at Brownsea Island brought together 20 young people from all walks of life. From that small beginning, Scouting is now a worldwide Movement of more than 57 million members. Today we celebrate being part of a diverse and inclusive organisation that creates positive outcomes for our members and their communities.’

On 1 August, celebrate World Scout Day by wearing your full Scout uniform or simply your Scout scarf wherever you go. Join Scouts around the world in proudly showing your Scouting spirit and celebrating the movement that began with the very first Scout Camp on Brownsea Island in 1907.

4 of our Albert Park leaders have achieved the Wood Badge. Congratulations guys! 👏

The Wood Badge

The Wood Badge is a common standard open to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Created over 100 years ago, it has played a pivotal role in shaping leaders within the Scout Movement. Its distinct design was inspired by a necklace brought back from Southern Africa by the founder of the Scouts, Robert Baden-Powell.

What’s been happening at 1st Albert Park Scouts!

Our scouts went on a very wet scout hike.

All our sections went on winter camp.
