Huntington’s Disease Association Tasmania was established in 1978, incorporated in 1983, to develop educational programs and provide support for Tasmanians affected by HD.
Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a degenerative brain disorder that results in the progressive loss of mental and physical capacities. The hereditary and complex nature of HD means that it’s not just patients, but an entire community that’s affected.
The Association aims to assist families in coping with and understanding of the disease, all while helping these families develop a strong unified voice in the quest for quality services, dignity and respect.
