Have you always wanted to ask a question at Council? Well my friends, it's good practice for your public speaking and it's free.

You'll get to be in the room with the wise and knowledgeable Elected Members and if you're lucky, they'll put their phones down and actually listen to you. You might be lucky.

Wink wink.

Council Elections are coming up in November and from what we hear there is a chance it could be a festival of self interest and stoic resolve to poke the earplugs a bit further in and listen to the sound of silence.

If you think you have something to offer to the burghers NOW is the time to shine.

Community members can ask questions of the Council at the start of each Council meeting.

84 days of sharing. Photo shows dogs at a soccer game at Sandown Park last weekend. No one seemed outraged. No kids fell in poo. No one sought medical attention for illness. No one seemed to petrified to play. Not even the dogs.

People who prefer not to recreate with dogs around have a number of options.

1. Directly next the the South Hobart Oval ( yes we know it’s not an oval- you are heard) there is a dog free park and bbq area.

2. For a ball sport or a picnic, the South Hobart Primary School is a dog free zone out of school hours of course.

3. Contact the City of Hobart and request community rates if you’d like exclusive use of the Oval and have the plan for an organised game.

4. Let the people with dogs know that you’d like a bit of space and there is a very good chance they’ll move over and give you that space because like it says on the box, we’re into sharing. 💕☮️ Like for reals, we’re not even joking or trying to scam you.

Supporter Alert. People power.

Lots if people are doing lots of cool stuff.

When this fabulous supporter dropped the delicious cake in to HQ we talked about the patriarchy and the take over of public space and how the City of Hobart have not done a very good job in following their own planning strategies.

Lucky so many locals now see the planned take over and are working on setting the record straight.

We pay our rates, we are responsible, we deserve access.

When in doubt, eat cake and carry on.
Faster, higher, stronger.

3 people playing informal tennis,

3 people exercising their animal,

4 teens hanging out with one of the dogs that is not theirs chatting to the 60 something dog owner,

One kid filming their ball tricks,

3 kids practicing soccer pre team work,

2 kids in the grandstand chatting.

2 kids on scooters,

0 people worried that there are a couple of dogs here.

Not one.
