We saw it coming, and have been producing ‘raw and reel’ (haha- did you enjoy that play on words that proves a {neurodivergent} human wrote this humour which a machine cannot replicate?) 👏😘training material for over two years for this very reason:
neurodivergent and trauma informed persons in Support settings can sense inauthenticity from a mile away. 💙
Thats why they are leaving you after only a few Sessions. They’ve come for support services due to the challenges inherent with diagnosis which have become overwhelming and thus producing the continuous effect of not being SAFE.
Not safe in body, due to atypical interoception
Not safe in communication and feeling constantly misunderstood and frustrated as a result
Not safe in social situations due to completely different neural wiring and therefore completely different social rules

For many neurodivergent and trauma-informed people, sitting still, focusing, or reading on demand can be incredibly challenging, especially when all eyes are on them. Traditional therapy often increases pressure, cognitive load, and nervous system stress without meaning to.

By shifting the focus away from the participant via activity alongside a calm, regulating Social Role Model, something important happens:

* The nervous system settles
* Cognitive load reduces
* Executive functioning increases
* Regulation comes BEFORE performance
