Hey all..... Thanks for supporting Clothes that CARE, my new little venture, to help get good quality donated goods to those that need them most- Those living on th
e streets. I couldnt belive there was not 1 place in brisbane (that i could find) that actually takes donated goods and GIVES them directly, free of charge to those who need them most. I know red cross, vinnies & salvos all do amazing work- dont get me wrong... however i didnt want the clothes just ending up in a thrift shop, i wanted to feel like i had ACTUALLY made a difference to somebody- no matter how small, so i began to research. I found a group in Sydney that collects clothes, sorts them, then walks the streets at night, handing the clothes straight over to those that have very little or nothing at all. It was such a great idea, sadly they only cater to the Sydney region & we have nothing similar (that i could find) here in Brisbane.... And so with a few quick emails to other charity organisations working in the area (various soup kitchens, hostels ect) Clothes that CARE was born!! Although still in the early stages of getting established.... we would LOVE & GREATLY appriciate your support & interest. If you feel like you can help out in anyway... by collecting/donating clothes, shoes, large bags, blankets ect, plz post & let us know & as soon as we are up & running we will let you know Just remember- what might be small & insignificant to us, things we take for granted- such as clean underwear, a warm blanket or a dry pair of socks, can really mean alot to those who are less fortunate then ourselfs. By giving that jumper you hardly ever wear, or that patchwork quilt thats in the back of your linen press.... you are helping to improve the life of someone that otherwise would be forgotten.
