New Year's Mandurah Trip!

There are around 6 boats, mostly HPH members, heading down to Mandurah on the 2nd January. (All plans are subject to weather)

Various boats are leaving from Rotto and Hillarys on the 2nd heading under the Garden Island bridge and then cutting through under the reef and on to Mandurah.
(You're welcome to join us on the trip if you've not been to Mandurah before)

There is plenty of choice on where to stay (details in picture below) - you can anchor inside the heads / anchor in the bay (yellow circles), or moor in a pen, which can be booked at either the Mandurah Offshore fishing and sailing club (08 9535 6251) or the Mandurah marina (08 9550 3707) (green circles).

Most boats probably leaving on the 5th, some boats plan to cruise home, some are heading back to Rotto via the back of Garden Island and anchoring in one of the nice sandy bays for lunch and a swim, then heading back to Rotto.

Mandurah has a jetty in the middle of town, so easy access to get supplies from the shops. Some members are bringing large tenders, so there is likely to be plenty of room on board for Xmas lights, a run to the cut, etc. Possibly a run up the Murray river to the Ravenswood Hotel for lunch.

You may be interested to know that...
Hillarys Marine Fuels is now owned by Pinnacle Travel Group, who also run Rottnest Fast Ferries.
They've made a few changes, including newer (better!) payment machines on the fuel jetty.
There is also now a website that publishes fuel costs: https://www.hillarysmarinefuels.com.au/

Kudos for the increased transparency - when speaking with James, Pinnacle Travel's MD (and Hillarys Penholders Associaiton member), it's clear that with the obligation to pay the DTMI wharfage fees and lower fuel volumes than locations like Fremantle, prices are unlikely to match Freo - but, it's certainly closer than it has been in the past.
