Thank you to the Grenville Group and Linton Fire Brigade for letting us and some of the crew from Skipton Fire Brigade use the CFA training pod at Linton this week.
We’d also like to thank the neighbours for not reporting the strange lights, flames, and firefighters wandering around in the night.
And to everyone who helped make this happen.

The Snake Valley Fire Brigade advises that a training exercise will be conducted in the Snake Valley CBD near the best shop in town on Monday, 3 August, commencing at 7:30 pm.
During the exercise, residents may notice CFA vehicles, firefighters, and flashing red and blue lights in the area.
There’s no need for alarm. Nobody has left the stove on, there isn’t an alien invasion. This is simply a planned training exercise designed to keep our members prepared.
We appreciate your understanding 🚒🔥

Aus Alert is launching in October 2026, but first it needs a test run.

On Monday 27 July 2026, a test Critical Alert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.

This includes most phones, and some smart watches and tablets.

Aus Alert will replace the previous version of emergency text messages but does not replace the Vic Emergency app. Please read through the information in the photos below for more information on how it all works.

Our brigade will be conducting a training exercise west of the township on Monday 20th of July between 7:30-8:30pm. During this time, residents may notice emergency vehicles with flashing red and blue lights operating in the area.
Please do not be alarmed, as this is only an exercise. For safety reasons, we ask that members of the public do not attend or enter the exercise area. Tanker movements and brigade personnel will be operating under controlled conditions, and access will be restricted.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we conduct this important training activity. 🚒🔥

This time last week we lost an amazing young man. Snake Valley & District Fire Brigade wish to extend our support and deepest sympathy to Dani, Shaun, Indi, Maki, and family on the sudden and immeasurable loss of Cody. Cody was a member of our brigade for 2 years and like the rest of the community, members of our brigade are feeling his loss deeply.

Cody was an incredible young man who thrived on adventure, lived life to the fullest and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was passionate about family, farming, footy and all things moto. Cody was hard working, kind, thoughtful, driven, passionate about chasing his dreams and a real credit to his parents and family. His zest for life and cheeky personality were infectious. Cody will be deeply missed by all who knew him and life won't be the same without him. Please keep his family in your thoughts as they navigate life with him.

A big thank you to all our volunteers! Your commitment to the brigade and community is appreciated.

This is real!
We have seen it many times and assisted Ambulance Victoria in treating patients with broken legs and a shattered pelvis as a result of having their feet up on the dash. These injuries are excruciating and make extraction from the vehicle for challenging for us, and traumatic for the patient.
Riding correctly seated is the safest option.
