Easter is a time that speaks of hope, renewal, and new beginnings.
For those who hold the Easter story close, it celebrates love stronger than loss, light beyond darkness, and life renewed. For others, Easter can still be a welcome pause â a time to reflect, to rest, and to reconnect with what gives meaning, kindness, and hope in everyday life.
The Carngham Memorial Church itself stands as a reminder of the values we seek to live by. Built through the generosity of Hon Philip Russell, it was shaped by a vision of faith expressed through care, welcome, and commitment to the wellbeing of this community â a legacy intended to serve generations.
Our community is made up of people with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and convictions. This diversity is not a weakness; but it is part of what makes a community truly alive.
In the richness of our diversity, Easter calls us to be better â to choose compassion over harm, respect over fear, and care over silence.
Our words and actions matter, especially when people feel unsafe, unheard, excluded, or are carrying the burden of illness. At this time, we hold with particular care those who are unwell, recovering, or supporting loved ones.
Choosing respect over cruelty, listening even when it is uncomfortable, protecting those who are vulnerable, and caring for those who are ill is not only right but responsibilities we all share.
In a world that can feel divided or fearful, Easter reminds us that peace and justice belong together, and that healing is possible when people commit to compassion and accountability.
May this Easter season bring you peace, hope, encouragement, and moments of warmth through quiet reflection, shared meals, time in nature, or connection with others.
âThis is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.â Psalm 118:24
Warm Easter blessings,
Carngham Memorial Uniting Church
