What an incredible day connecting with students, families, and the wider community at the Fowler Future Fest held last 14 May, proudly organised by MP Dai Le.

Zen Tea, through our Café Cart and community stall, had the opportunity to engage with young people as they explored future pathways, career opportunities, and support services available in the community. From serving drinks, interactive passport activities and fun spin-the-wheel moments to meaningful conversations, it was inspiring to see so many students actively planning for their futures.

We’re so happy that our team members were able to be part of this meaningful event, contributing their energy, passion, and support throughout the day.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to have a drink and supported the work we do in empowering communities through connection and opportunity.

Mother’s Day at Zen Tea Lounge Foundation was filled with so much love, emotion, and beautiful moments that we will carry in our hearts for a very long time.

We are beyond proud of our D4S team for the incredible effort, care, and love they poured into this special day, from preparing every detail behind the scenes to courageously expressing their love and gratitude through the most heartfelt gifts to their mothers.

To witness these beautiful connections between mothers and children reminded us how powerful love, support, and family truly are.

At Zen, we believe empowerment begins with connection, healing, and feeling seen. Watching our D4S team grow in confidence, support one another, and create such meaningful memories for their mothers made us incredibly proud.

Thank you to every mother, every family, and every young person who shared their hearts with us on this special day.

We had the privilege of attending the Vesak Celebration at NSW Parliament House.

What stood out most was not the ceremony itself, but the sense of community. People from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and traditions gathered in one space to reflect on values that unite us all - compassion, kindness, respect, and service to others.

It was inspiring to see so many community leaders, organisations, and volunteers coming together to celebrate cultural diversity and strengthen connections across our communities.

A personal highlight was meeting Rev Bill Crews, whose work through Loaves & Fishes continues to bring dignity, hope, and practical support to people experiencing hardship. It was also heartwarming to meet members of the Buddhist Council who were already familiar with the work of Zen Tea Lounge Foundation-a reminder that meaningful community connections often grow quietly over time.

Our sincere thanks to the Buddhist Council of NSW, Minister for Multiculturalism Stephen Kamper, Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure, and everyone who helped create such a welcoming and meaningful evening.

In a world that can often feel divided, evenings like this remind us that understanding begins with coming together.

Money can feel overwhelming- especially when you’re building a life, supporting a family, and trying to plan for the future all at once.

A throwback from March, when 25 Vietnamese women came together for a one-hour Financial Literacy Workshop led by Ms. Thi Phan from EduPath Wealth Partner. What started as a simple session quickly turned into a space of shared stories, honest questions, and small but powerful shifts in perspective.

There were conversations about everyday challenges- stretching a budget, managing expenses, and figuring out where to even begin with financial planning. But there was also laughter, especially during a mini game that reminded everyone that learning about money doesn’t have to feel heavy.

Between practical tips and open discussions, something meaningful happened: confidence started to grow.
Not from having all the answers, but from understanding that small, consistent steps can lead to stability.

By the end of the session, many shared how helpful and engaging it felt- because it wasn’t just about numbers. It was about feeling more in control, more informed, and more supported.

Because building a stable financial future doesn’t happen alone. It starts in spaces like this: https://events.humanitix.com/vietnamese-women-s-circle-jrgjtkhu

Thank you to EduPath Finance Solutions Pty Ltd and Ms. Thi Phan for generously sharing your time, knowledge, and practical guidance with our community.

Different stories.
Standing side by side, moving together through the rhythm of the drums.

Drumming for Peace is more than an opening performance for SAFV 2025. It is a reflection of the space we are building together - one grounded in unity, healing, cultural connection, and hope.

Each beat carries strength.
Each rhythm carries story.
Each woman brings heart, courage, and community into the room.

This behind-the-scenes moment is a reminder that even through our differences, we can still stand together as one community - choosing peace, compassion, and solidarity.

Throwback to a moment that stays with us.

In our Women Leadership Empowerment project, we found ourselves in tears - watching sisters and helpers take turns caring for a mother’s baby, so she could sit, breathe, and learn.

No spotlight. Just quiet acts of love, dignity, and shared strength.

This is what transformation looks like - not just in skills, but in how we hold each other through it.

Grateful to walk this journey together.

As we mark the final day of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, we honour a powerful lesson between two brothers that shaped a lifetime.

When Paul Rodgers was only six or seven years old, he was involved in a disagreement with a girl at school. After being pushed to the ground, Paul wanted to fight back.

But his brother, Gary Brian Rodgers, stepped in and said:

“Paul, we don’t hit girls.”

A simple sentence.
A defining moment.
A lifelong lesson.

That moment taught Paul that strength is not shown through violence. Real strength is self-control, respect, and the ability to walk away from harm.

Today, we honour people like Gary - those who choose to step in, speak up, guide with compassion, and model respectful behaviour for the next generation.

Prevention starts long before crisis.
It starts in childhood.
In homes.
In schools.
In everyday conversations.
In the values we choose to pass on.

The lessons we teach our children today become the culture our communities live tomorrow.

Imagine if every child grew up learning:
• Respect over aggression
• Communication over violence
• Accountability over control
• Compassion over power

We all have a role to play - parents, brothers, sisters, teachers, leaders, friends, and communities.

One lesson can shape a life.
One voice can interrupt violence.
One moment can help break a cycle.

Let’s raise a generation that knows violence is never strength.

What values are we teaching the next generation today?

Closing our panel line-up for SAFV 2026, we welcome Delia Donovan, Chief Executive Officer of Domestic Violence NSW (DVNSW).

When you work in domestic and family violence, you see how deeply systems are tested - and how urgently they must continue to change.

Across Australia and the United Kingdom, Delia has spent decades working across crisis response, prevention, and long-term reform in the sector. Her leadership has been recognised internationally, including the Impact 25 Award, for strengthening how systems respond to violence and support recovery.

Her presence at SAFV 2026 strongly reflects the heart behind this year’s summit:
bringing together powerful voices from across sectors to strengthen awareness, prevention, leadership, and collective care within our communities.

This year’s theme:

The Rhythm of Multicultural – Solidarity Against Family Violence is grounded in the belief that safer futures are built through connection, courage, collaboration, and shared humanity.

Together, we will:
✨ honour survivors
✨ recognise community champions
✨ strengthen prevention conversations
✨ amplify multicultural leadership
✨ and continue building momentum for change

A powerful evening of reflection, resilience, leadership, and hope.
