Our guest speaker, Carmen Fowler, has 21 years of zoological experience and now leads the Eastern Bristlebird conservation breeding and release program, supports the Fig‑Parrot breeding program and manages the Macleay’s Fig‑Parrot studbook at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a talk not to be missed!🫶🦜

Finish off Parrots 2026 with our Step Up Workshop on Monday, 20 July, the final event of the conference itinerary.

Perfect for companion parrot owners, this hands-on workshop focuses on in-home health and behaviour.

Hosted by the Unusual Pet Vets, Dr Patrick Jones will cover medical emergencies, while professional animal trainer Belinda Young will teach practical behaviour and training techniques you can use at home.

Held at D’Aguilar Wildlife, the venue (and your host Ben Bawden) are part of the unique experience.

Conference Day 2 at Parrots 2026 brings another full day of outstanding guest speakers and presentations on Sunday, 19 July.

Topics across the day include parrot choice and behaviour, geriatric parrot medicine, Cape Parrot breeding programs, Jardines, Naretha Bluebonnets, Fear Free handling, and parrot conservation in Indonesia.

The weekend will conclude with a special Q&A panel featuring all guest speakers, giving attendees the chance to ask questions and hear from some of the leading names in aviculture, veterinary care, behaviour, and conservation.

It’s going to be a fantastic finish to our formal conference.
