🧠 Hands-On PORTL Session with Belinda Young: attendees got to dive into the principles of learning and behavior through an interactive PORTL (Portable Operant Research and Teaching Lab) session.

✨ Training Tips with Hannah Gallagher: Hannah took the stage with a stunning Blue and Gold Macaw to demonstrate practical, positive reinforcement techniques that you can use right at home!

To top it all off, delegates were treated to an exclusive tour of D'Aguilar Wildlife, getting up close and personal with some amazing Aussie wildlife! 🐨🐍

What a massive success! The energy, passion, and community spirit on display made this convention one to remember.

Our world-class lineup of international and Australian speakers delivered an amazing wealth of avicultural knowledge. From deep dives into species-specific information and cutting-edge avicultural practices, to essential veterinary health care and practical guideposts for training and caring for companion parrots—delegates left inspired, educated, and equipped to elevate avian welfare across the board! 🧠💡

🤝 Giving Back to Conservation -
thanks to the incredible generosity of our delegates, we raised almost $10,000 through the convention raffles and convention dinner fundraising auction! 🎟️🍽️👏

We were also very pleased to present Dr Christina Zdenek with a cheque for $5000 to support her incredible work protecting Australia's stunning Palm Cockatoos 🖤❤️

Whether you travelled from across the globe or just down the road, it was the perfect way to break the ice, share some laughs, and celebrate the incredible biodiversity that makes our corner of the world so special.

🦜 Aviary Tour Stop #5 🦜
Last, but definitely not least, we headed to our final tour stop of the day in another picturesque region, and viewed more impressive aviaries (and new works in progress) and beautiful birds including a range of Ringnecks, Eclectus, Alexandrines, Derbyans, a sweet Short-billed Corella, Macaws, Lories and much more!
Thank you so much to Paul Yvette Mcbreen for allowing us to visit his lovely property and impressive collection of parrots 🫶

Overall, what an amazing day of viewing such a diverse range of stunning parrots (and also softbills, game birds, poultry and waterfowl) and the impressive aviary settings they are housed in 👌 Definitely an inspiration for either our next bird to keep or aviary to build!! 🙌
