H5 bird flu is present in wild birds in south-west Victoria.

Early reporting gives us the best chance to reduce the impacts of the disease.

Avoid. Record. Report. is a simple way you can help.

If you see sick or dead birds or wildlife:
โœ… avoid contact
โœ… record the exact location and what you observed
โœ… report it online or call 1800 675 888

We know people care deeply about wildlife and want to help when they see an animal in distress.

Injured wildlife may still need rescue and care, but if birds or wildlife appear sick, or dead, avoid contact and report it so trained responders can safely assess the situation.

Your report could help detect disease early and support our wildlife.

A housing requirement is now in place for poultry flocks of 50 or more birds along the south of the state for an initial 14 days following recent detections of H5 bird flu. ๐Ÿ”

Poultry owners in these areas must house their birds or otherwise prevent contact with wild birds wherever practical.

Housing poultry is an additional risk mitigation option aimed at reducing exposure of poultry to infected wildlife. Wild birds are a known source of H5 bird flu.

Stringent biosecurity practices remain essential. If you notice unexplained illness or deaths in your birds, report it immediately to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.

Have your say on how wastewater from septic tanks is managed in our communities.

Corangamite Shire Council has drafted a new Onsite Wastewater Management Plan to help protect local health and the environment in towns not connected to sewerage, including Cobden, Timboon, Port Campbell, Simpson, Derrinallum and Skipton.

This plan will guide future decisions about land use, permits and maintenance so systems remain safe and sustainable across the Shire.

Share your feedback by Monday 13 April at corangamite.vic.gov.au/OWMP
