Jonny Niesche’s works are known for their calm, clean, serene, minimalist aesthetic, and their industrial sheen.
Their atmospheric effects lure and captivate viewers like moths, while conjuring up precedents and parallels from art history.
Created specifically for Night Feast, Total Vibration is a major new site-specific installation, transforming the Stores Studio into a realm of reflection and reverberation, sound and vision. Two massive flexible mirrors-one horizontal, one vertical-face off across the space, rippling, trembling and shimmering in response to a soundtrack by Niesche’s longtime collaborator, British electronic musician Mark Pritchard.
Jonny Niesche is based in Gadigal/Sydney, and is represented by 1301SW, 1301SW Naarm/Melbourne and Gadigal/Sydney.

Sha Sarwari’s multidisciplinary practice navigates the thresholds between displacement and belonging through sculpture, textile, video, and installation, creating space for personal narratives inviting reflection on identity, place, and nationhood. Sarwari’s weaving of lived experience
and liminal space presents a powerfully moving exhibition with essay by Kyle Weise. The Condensery - Somerset Regional Art Gallery through 20 September.
Open Wed - Sun. 10am - 4pm. Somerset Regional Council encompassing the land of the Dungibara, Jinibara, Jagera, Yuggera, and Ugarapul peoples.

On loan from the National Gallery of Australia showing at Ipswich Art Gallery Agnes Martin has been a constant on my recent visits. These works are from her early 1980’s introduction of narrow, rhythmic horizontal bands of soft colour while working and living in New Mexico. Delicate and meditative, they highlight her unerring pursuit of the emotional through abstraction.

Jenna Lee was, last Friday, announced as the recipient of the Telstra NATSIAA Work on Paper Award! The Telstra Work on Paper Award is a $15,000 category prize that is part of the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA), presented by the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) in Darwin. The award honours exceptional contemporary Indigenous artworks created on paper, including photography, printmaking, and drawing.

Marri Ngarr artist Dr Ryan Presley Ryan Presley has won the prestigious $100,000 Telstra Art Award at the 43rd Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) announced this evening, August 7, 2026, at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) in Darwin Museum & Art Gallery of the NT
