Doubly stunning, two solo exhibitions,
Ann Thomson ‘Evolving’ and Sophie Cape ‘Inferno’ now showing at Mitchell Fine Art

Mitchell Fine Art, moderated by Samantha Littley, Curator of Australian Art at Queensland Art Gallery QAG & GOMA
By focussing on these two distinctive generations of Australian female painters, both graduates of the National Art School and both engaged with landscape and the physicality of painting, there will be much to experience including the critical importance of sighting the works.
Ann Thomson is a Brisbane-born artist whose six decade career expands to this new body of paintings exploring colour, gesture, texture, memory, and place.
‘Inferno’ is Sophie Cape’s debut with Mitchell Fine Art. Her indoor outdoor work employs the natural elements of rain, mud, ash, soil and pigments and you’ll be amazed at the story behind what makes some of them glimmer. You may have seen Sophie awhile back on ABC Australian Story.
Both exhibitions show through 14 November 14.
