U3A Sunshine Coast has over 200 classes and activities provided by volunteers to promote active lifestyles for mature age members. U3A offers academic and skills subjects, arts and crafts, exercise and social activities. Classes are conducted in various venues on t

he Sunshine Coast. The year is divided into four terms, similar to school terms. The speaker and topic change every week or two weeks. Lectures are held in: the U3A Lecture Room at the University, Caloundra, Maleny, Mudjimba and Nambour. Social: Throughout the year various social activities are organised. These have included day trips to the theatre, restaurants and long, group tours. Health, Fitness and Sports: Groups include: aquacise, cycling, table tennis, tennis, ten-pin bowling, swimming, gentle stretching exercise, gym fitness, Tai Chi, Yoga, croquet, golf, lawn bowls and badminton. U3A has a close relationship with the University of the Sunshine Coast and members may sit-in on lectures at the University. U3A is an all-volunteer organisation. Membership of U3A Sunshine Coast is $40 per calendar year. To join U3A you use the Membership Pages. where you may also enrol in classes and activities. The annual membership fee covers as many classes/activities as you wish to attend. Note: Some classes may have a waiting list. Notionally, classes are all free but some venue locations levy a fee for U3A to use, so a number of classes have a moderate term fee to help cover that venue cost. Each year, U3A Sunshine Coast runs an Open Day or Expo where you can see displays of most of the classes, and meet the tutors.

Taking Some Time Out: Before I step away for a while, I would like to sincerely thank all the members who have contributed photos, videos, stories, and event updates for our page. Your contributions help showcase the wonderful activities and community spirit that make U3A so special.

Although I will be taking a break from Facebook and Instagram, the page will continue to be monitored and cared for. I have also prepared and scheduled content for a number of upcoming events to ensure information continues to be shared as planned.

For now, I'm taking some time to step back and recharge, but this isn't goodbye. Thank you all for being part of the journey

We're delighted to hear your positive feedback about the Tutor Support Group (TAG) initiative and look forward to welcoming you as a tutor when your travels allow. Enjoy your wonderful Thames River adventure, what an amazing experience!

MEMBERS TRYING SOMETHING NEW:
One member recently shared her experience of joining the Buderim Bowls Club 6-week beginners coaching clinic after seeing it advertised through U3A โ€” something she had never imagined herself trying before! Along with 19 other U3A members!

The great thing about U3A members is that we are always up for a challenge and keen to try something different. U3A definitely delivers a huge variety of courses and many that you wouldnโ€™t have thought to try. I had never thought of lawn bowls for instance but thanks to U3A advertising that Buderim Bowls Club was running a
6-week beginners coaching clinic, myself (pictured with some of my new friends) and 19 other U3A members jumped quickly and the course was full in 2 days.

The next coaching clinic begins on 31 August, so why not give it a go?
