The most exciting news we’ve had this year.. QLD has opened the roads!! 🥳 This means you can get to and from Innamincka and Noccundra through here!! 🛻💨
It does state they are high clearance vehicles only but towing is aloud.
I have marked red on the roads that are still closed.

Transport for NSW is hosting a contractor information workshop in Broken Hill on Thursday 24 September 2026. The workshop is designed to help local contractors, plant operators and businesses better understand how they can become prequalified to undertake work for Transport for NSW.

The workshop will cover:
* Requirements for joining the Hired Plant Panel
* Wet hire and dry hire arrangements
* Vendor registration processes
* Safety, insurance and compliance requirements
* Contractor capability and accreditation requirements
* Questions and answers with Transport for NSW representatives.

The workshop will be held from 9am to 3pm at Thyme on Argent, 220 Argent Street, Broken Hill. There will also be sessions about the Draft Far West Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plan and transport (truck combinations).

The day after. Hope everyone had a great time considering the weather. We would like to thank everyone that supported the village and worked hard to keep food and drink coming and Penrose Park for finding sites for so many.
To the Bash organizers letting Troy, Shane and Adam do their mini concert great night was had by all.
To the little red bus 🚟 driver Peter for making sure everyone got back to the bash and even the ones that missed the last bus call. Then when the creek starting running made sure campers from Penrose Park were able to get to see the Troy, Shane and Adam.

Just to clarify the Penrose Park Silverton looks after all the campers and caravaners needs when you wish to stay in Silverton.
There is no overnight camping permitted in Silverton village itself.
Thanks to all that visited hope you all enjoyed the bash, see you next year.

The road to Silverton and Mundi Mundi lookout is open. Do not use Google as it is directing you to go through private property.
Just follow the signs to Silverton from the roundabout at the Barrier hwy in Broken hill.
