Destination Goulburn Valley Your visitor economy advocacy group striving for the GV to be a leading visitor destination. We pay respect to their Tribal Elders, past present and emerging.

Welcome to Destination Goulburn Valley, on Yorta Yorta Country

Formerly known as Tourism Greater Shepparton (TGS) , we have been championing the Goulburn Valley region since our voluntary board's formation in 2001. We’re a passionate group of locals who want to see our region thrive, especially after recent setbacks. As industry operators ourselves, we know the importance of food, beverages and

hospitality in our region's visitor experience. Visit our website www.destinationgoulburnvalley.com.au to sign up to our newsletter and learn more about what we have planned, where to visit and how you can get the most of your time in the Goulburn Valley. Destination Goulburn Valley acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land in which we gather, grow and meet, the Yorta Yorta Nation, whose clans include the Bangerang, Kailtheban, Wollithiga, Moira, Ulupna, Kwat Kwat, Yalaba Yalaba and Ngurai-illiam-wurrung people. We celebrate their continuing culture, and we acknowledge the memory of their ancestors.

A proposed renewable energy zone is being planned across the Dookie region, spanning highly productive farmland, areas of cultural significance and the landscape that makes this place what it is.

We support renewable energy. We know it’s part of the future.

But where and how it happens matters.

Dookie is not just a backdrop. It’s a working agricultural region producing strong yields even in tough seasons. It’s a place people live, build businesses and welcome visitors. It’s part of the story of our region.

Right now, there is a petition calling for this proposal to be reconsidered and for Dookie to be removed from the zone.

The concern is simple. Planning must be thoughtful, with genuine consultation and care for the communities it impacts.

Decisions like this don’t sit in isolation. They ripple across farmers, small businesses, local economies and the broader visitor experience.

If you’d like to support our community, you can sign the petition and help share the message.

SIGN THE PETITION — 10,000 signatures are needed for this to be tabled in Parliament.

Fresh faces. Strong experience. Plenty of care for this region.

We’re pleased to welcome three new Directors to the Destination Goulburn Valley Board.

Samantha Lewis
Louise Bannister

Together they bring experience across strategy, marketing, governance, partnerships, operations and regional growth, along with a shared commitment to helping the Goulburn Valley thrive.

Alongside our existing Board, they’ll help guide the next chapter of DGV as we continue championing local business, growing visitation, and sharing the stories that make this region worth the trip.

For 30 years, the Fairley Leadership Program has helped shape the kind of leaders regional communities need most — people who step up, bring others with them, and create real change close to home. Through Goulburn Murray Community Leadership, the program has backed local people to grow skills, confidence, networks and ideas that strengthen the Goulburn Murray region.

Now celebrating three decades of impact with the 30 Year Celebration & Fundraising Gala this Friday 17 April at the GV Hotel — an evening honouring the past while investing in the future. Guests will enjoy a two-course dinner, entertainment and stories of leadership that have helped shape our region.

Can’t make it on the night? You can still have a seat at the table.

Their Virtual Seat Campaign allows supporters to purchase a symbolic seat for $150, helping remove financial barriers for emerging leaders, support scholarships and program delivery, and invest in the next generation of changemakers. Your name will be acknowledged at the Gala, with a post-event impact update to show how your support made a difference.

Because strong regions don’t happen by chance. They’re built by people willing to lead.

Take a virtual seat and help shape what comes next.

Shepparton, saddle up.

The Shepparton Rodeo rides in this Friday night at the Showgrounds — gates open from 4pm, with action running right through to 11pm.

Think bull riding, barrel racing and broncs in the arena, plus food trucks, sideshow fun and live music carrying the energy into the night.

Stick around after the final ride — the main stage kicks on with live music to close it out.

Will we see you there?

Better two-step to it — tickets won’t last long.

This Saturday, Station Street in Seymour fills with sound, movement and the flavours of our region

From 10am–4pm, Tastes of the Goulburn turns the street into a live stage — guitars humming, boots moving and people drifting between bites, sips and songs.

Meet and , two of the region’s music maestros bringing sweet charm and soulful tunes to the street. One a local CFA volunteer and one hot off the stage at Tamworth Country Music Festival, they know how to put on a show.

Taking centre stage, .band roll in with their reverb-soaked guitar sounds — a nod to The Shadows and the vast, evocative spirit of Sergio Leone’s Spaghetti Westerns. Heading down the Hume, this retro trio are ready to get Station Street up on its feet.

And if that’s not enough? bring the energy, leading some good old-fashioned boot scootin’ with a twist — the kind that pulls you in, whether you planned to dance or not.

It’s not just entertainment.
It’s a street in full swing.

A stretch, a play, a quick reset.

If you’re coming through with a caravan or RV, Mooroopna makes it easy to pull up and breathe for a minute.

Park up near the Mooroopna Recreation Reserve and let the kids loose — toilets, skate park, playground, space for a kick of the footy, walk the dog, or just a wander.

Then head into town and grab something from Bill & Beats — a milkshake, a coffee, or something easy for lunch to take the edge off the road.

Everything you may need, and some — from award-winning bakeries to a slice at Mooroopna Pizzeria & Wine Bar, something warm and generous from Mondi Kitchen, takeaway options, even a laundromat if you’re resetting properly before the next stretch — and if you’re lucky enough to time it right, the local market adds a little extra to the stop.

Nothing overcomplicated.
Just a good, easy stop that gets you back on your way feeling a little more human.

A pause that gives something back.

Pull into Shepparton and make your way to Victoria Park Lake.
Free parking makes it easy, whether you’re in the car or travelling through with a caravan, or you can stretch your legs and walk from the train station.

There’s space here.
Two playgrounds, including an all-abilities one. A skate park. Bike paths that loop and lead you on. Toilets close by, so you can settle in without thinking twice.

Bring a footy. Let them run. Dog on lead, if they’re coming along.

Or do very little at all.

Grab a coffee or a milkshake from Elsewhere at SAM, find a seat in the sun and watch it all unfold. If you feel like it, step inside Shepparton Art Museum for a quiet moment of culture in between it all.

There’s even an EV chargers on site.

An easy stop.
One that leaves everyone better than when they arrived.

Sevens Creek Park.
Pull in. Stretch out. Stay a while.

Just off the highway in Euroa, there’s a spot by the creek near the Council offices that feels made for families passing through.

Open lawn, toilets close by, a skate park and two enclosed playgrounds either side — one towards the shops, one towards the caravan park (and yes, it’s a good one).

From here, everything is easy.

Wander into town and pick up something fresh from Fare Enough or Mawson’s Bakery Cafe — sandwiches, rolls, salads, sushi. The kind of food that travels well and disappears quickly.

Or settle in at Seven Creeks Hotel for a proper pub lunch. And if it’s edging into the weekend and you’re not driving, a glass from The Wine List is there waiting.

Coffee can be quick at The Nest Euroa, or slower at Mely & Me, or with a scone and jam at Cafe 56 Euroa.

If the legs need more than a stretch, the Apex Walking Track starts right there by the creek.
Or take the long way out — up into the Strathbogie Ranges, pausing at Kelvin View Lookout for that wide look back over Euroa.

And if you’re lingering a little longer, Northern Republic is worth pulling up a chair — a spot to refuel properly before the road calls again.

Not just a stop.
A pause that actually feels like one.

One of those stops that’s too easy not to take.

As you ease into Shepparton, keep an eye to your left.
That’s your cue.

Pull in at Milestone Cafe & Bistro — grab a coffee, maybe something to eat, grab a treat from the The Chocolate Apple Factory, and let the kids take on a round of mini golf at Riverside Gardens.

It’s simple. It works.

And if time’s on your side, wander next door into MOVE Museum of Vehicle Evolution.
A slow walk through stories of movement, machines and moments.

In and out, or stay a while.
Either way, it fits.
