REGIONAL JOURNALISM FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM ✨
Congratulations to James Manley on being selected as the final recipient of the Regional Journalism Fellowship Program!

This incredible six-month internship with Shepparton News and McPherson Media, supported by mentorship from the Melbourne Press Club is a wonderful opportunity for James to develop his skills, gain invaluable industry experience and take an exciting step in his career in journalism.

Fellowships like this are so important for the future of local and regional journalism. They give young people the opportunity to enter the industry, learn from experienced journalists and develop the confidence and skills needed to tell the stories that matter to their local communities.

We couldn’t be more excited to see James working in a field he loves so much and pursuing his passion for storytelling and journalism. We know he’ll make the most of this fantastic opportunity and look forward to seeing where this next chapter takes him.

In 2024, CVGT Employment proudly supported the Greater Shepparton Foundation Lift Off Education Scholarship Program through our Community Grants initiative, helping young people pursue post-secondary education pathways and achieve their goals.

Scholarship recipient, Caleen Mills, recently shared the impact this support has had on her journey in the Melbourne arts industry:

"My Lift Off Scholarship has provided so much security as I explore my place in the Melbourne Arts industry. Thanks to the scholarship I was able to maintain my honours results, attend extra classes to broaden my abilities, and avoid burnout from unnecessary stress."

The scholarship also enabled Caleen to continue giving back to her hometown of Shepparton through her work as a mentor and teacher.

"I am so grateful to CVGT for allowing the time to find myself as an artist and give back to my community."

Stories like Caleen's demonstrate how community partnerships can create meaningful opportunities for local people to thrive, build their skills and contribute back to the communities that support them.
