Have you ever built a Nature Mobile?!

This week we hosted a free pride month session for local q***r young people to come along and create something new with local business, Find Your Feathers.

Using ethically sourced and collected natural materials, creativity flowed freely inside Uniting as it rained outside. The best part being that, if you no longer vibe with something like this that you create, 95% of mateirals used can go back to the earth!

Check out some of the creations and be sure to connect to Al from Find Your Feathers if you want a session lie this for staff at your workplace, young people from your group or at your school.

Our team had a huge week for IDAHOBIT 2026! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Here is a roundup of what we got up to!
❤ We presented to staff from Moira Shire Council and chatted about inclusive language and using pronouns.
🧡 We attended Kyabram P12's Diversity and Inclusion Day.
💛 We supported local q***r youth through our 'side hustle' workshops and to have their own stalls at our community event at the library.
💚 We collaborated to help run, and then attended, this year's IDAHOBIT at Twilight community event with other local stakeholders, led by GV Libraries.
💙 We visited Berry Street School and ran an educational workshop for students.
💜 And, we celebrated the Diversity Project's 30th Birthday too!

What a wonderful week!

Celebrating 30 years of impact with the Diversity Project! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

We're proud to mark three decades of the Diversity Project — a vital support program for LGBTQIA+ young people under 25 across Greater Shepparton and Moira Shires.

As one of the longest-running LGBTQIA+ support groups in regional Victoria, the Diversity Project has created a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space where young people can be themselves, connect with others, and build a sense of belonging.

For 30 years, it has empowered q***r youth to feel comfortable in their own skin, explore their identities, and find community, often for the very first time. 💜

Thank you to everyone who came along and celebrated the incredible milestone at our Showcase Event last week, it was a joy to share this moment with you.

Today we stand together for IDAHOBIT — the International Day Against LGBTIQA+ Discrimination.

At Uniting, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, seen, respected, and celebrated for who they are. Diversity makes our communities stronger, and inclusion starts with the everyday choices we make to support one another.

Whether it’s using someone’s correct name and pronouns, challenging discrimination, or simply creating spaces where people can belong - small actions matter.

To our LGBTQIA+ young people and community members: you are valued, you are important, and you deserve to thrive exactly as you are. 🌈✨

Last Wednesday night, Ash and Katie from our Being Our Best Brave (BOBB) program, attended the 2026 Ganbina Careers Night, held at Riverlinks. This event is designed to connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with diverse industry, tertiary and vocational educational opportunities.

It was great to connect with students, families, and community members, hear about future goals and aspirations, and share conversations about pathways, opportunities, and careers. Events like these are such an important reminder of the value of community support, mentorship, and creating spaces where young people can feel empowered about their future.

A big thank you to Ganbina for hosting such a meaningful event — Unting are incredibly grateful to have been part of it.
