Today we celebrate LGBTIQA+ young people! We show up and wear our 'Colours of Courage' to highlight the everyday acts of pride, support, and inclusion.

To our local LGBTIQA+ young people, we not only see you, but we promise to keep making the space in our work, community and society for you to thrive and live your authentic lives here in regional Victoria.

What a night of colour and creativity! ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ

We held a Colours of Courage Tie Dye Workshop to celebrate Wear it Purple Official Day and everyone involved had a blast.

Together we learned how to wrap our tees, mix the dye, and the techniques to create different designs.

We promise we'll share some pics of the finished results!

Huge thanks to Cherie, who facilitated the workshop for us all to enjoy.

PS. Don't forget to wear purple tomorrow! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

One week to go until it's Wear it Purple day 2026!

So, we know sometimes you might be wondering 'Why do we Wear It Purple on the last Friday in August?' So, we have a few reasons why we do and why we would love to see YOU do it too!

๐ŸŒˆ We wear purple to show rainbow young people it's ok to be who they are.
๐Ÿ’œ We believe that signs of visibility and hope truly matter.
๐ŸŒˆ We wear rainbows to be authentic, as we bring our full selves to work,
๐Ÿ’œ We know showing your colours can take courage.
๐ŸŒˆ We will Wear It Purple again this August to keep showing up for q***r youth.

5 top-tier tips for better sleep! ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ด
If youโ€™re 12-25 (or older!) existing on vibes and caffeine... this is your sign!

1. Try and avoid โ€œrevenge bedtime procrastinationโ€ Yeah, weโ€™ve all done it, but that โ€œfree timeโ€ at 1am ends up being our suffering the next day. Try going to bed 30mins earlier (baby steps!)

2. Your phone needs a break too!
Have you heard of โ€œblue lightโ€? our brains stay alert thinking itโ€™s still daytime. So our advice is to charge your phone on the other side of the room (or a different room) and switch your phone to dark mode 30-60mins before bed.

3. Consistent sleep schedule!
This one mind sound like a tale as old as time BUT keeping a consistent routine (including the weekend) stops our wonderful brains getting confused!

4. Avoid tucking your stress in with you at night!
Beds are for sleep and resting, not for stress to become the snuggly pet we never wanted. If your mind is loud before you go to sleep, write your thoughts down to tackle later! They wonโ€™t go anywhere.

5. Light up your mornings early!
Morning light tells your body โ€œWeโ€™re awake, letโ€™s get moving!โ€.
You only need to stand outside in the sun for 5-10mins to get those wonderful neurons firing, give it a go!

Have you got any tips, tricks or life hacks that make your sleep the best it could be? Share them below/ ๐Ÿ‘‡
