Blessing of the Bikes will have two new locations in Victoria in 2023.
Sunday tbc October- GEELONG.
Sunday 12th November- NAGAMBIE
Why?
As we all know Cowes did not work as well as we would have liked down on Thompson Avenue. It was to planned to be at the Footy Oval but the constant rain and resultant soggy grass moved us to the main street which was never initially planned.
After recent conversations with the San Remo Traders Association, their response was not favourable. They do not want their road closed off for this event and could only offer the car park out the back. We are not happy with that offer as it would not be conductive to a successful community and motorcycle event.
Well, their loss is Geelong’s gain I say.
So, in 2023 the new location will be Cunningham Pier, Geelong and the Waterfront area.
After my visit to Geelong today, I was greeted with open arms by the Geelong Council as well as a number of local businesses, to bring our Blessing of the Bikes event to their City.
The Cunningham Pier venue will be massive! The photos below (from a past Toy Run) are a sample of what the Pier will look like filled with bikes. Imagine what it will look like with the Blessing of the Bikes if we aim for 5,000 riders to support this event in 2023. This venue offers us a full indoor area for a Show and Shine event, capped at 100 or so bikes - as well as trade expo sites from the motorcycle dealers in Geelong and others. Full function area with restaurants and bar on the Pier. As well as a huge choice of catering options within 100-200 metres from a wide range of other local restaurants on the water front.
I have heard what many have said and will strive to make the 2023 event a free event for all. We will call for any kind donations to be dropped into Donation Barrels on the day if you wish to for Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation.
Nagambie, Victoria - Blessing of the Bikes (closing off the main street of Nagambie) will now cater for the thousands of riders who are not able to ride to Geelong from Northern Victoria. This covers the border towns like Albury Wodonga, Wangaratta, Shepparton, Echuca, Benalla, Seymour and even Bendigo and everywhere in between.
More on this event coming in the next few da
