This trip is more than just travel. It is an opportunity for our young leaders to step outside their comfort zones, build lifelong memories, experience a new culture, and further develop the leadership skills that will help shape their futures. We are incredibly proud of each participant for embracing this opportunity and representing themselves, their families, schools, and community with pride.

Building Skills for Life and the Future

Last week, our Youth Leadership Program participants completed their First Aid Training, gaining valuable skills that will support them in the workplace, within their communities, and throughout their lives.

While First Aid certification is an important step towards becoming job ready, it also aligns with the broader goals of the Youth Leadership Program by helping participants develop confidence, responsibility, and practical life skills.

Participants demonstrated excellent teamwork during the hands-on components of the training, working together to apply first aid techniques and respond to real-life scenarios. Through collaboration, communication, and problem-solving, they strengthened key leadership qualities that are central to the program.

We are proud of our young leaders for embracing this opportunity and continuing to build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to make a positive impact in their communities.

Ganbina Youth Leadership Unique Experience 2 – Cairns Adventure!

What an incredible journey for our young leaders as part of the Ganbina Youth Leadership Unique Experience 2 in Cairns!

Throughout the experience, participants challenged themselves, built confidence, strengthened leadership skills, and created lifelong memories while exploring the beauty, culture, and opportunities that Cairns has to offer. From connecting with community, learning from inspiring leaders, and stepping outside their comfort zones, our young people demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and a commitment to their future.

This experience is about more than travel, it's about empowering the next generation to lead with confidence, purpose, and pride in who they are and where they come from.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this opportunity possible. Your support continues to help our young people grow, thrive, and achieve their aspirations.

Congratulations to all participants for embracing every opportunity and representing Ganbina with pride.

Nerrissa is a Yorta Yorta/Gunaikurnai young woman and is excited to be part of the Ganbina team.
Before joining Ganbina, she worked in education and as a Better Futures Community Connector, supporting young people to stay connected, build confidence, and work towards their goals. Community and culture keep Nerrissa grounded, she plays footy for Rumbalara Football Netball Club, spends time with family whenever she can, and loves being out on Country, camping by the river or on the water.
Nerrissa is passionate about supporting young people, building strong relationships, and giving back to community, and is looking forward to the journey ahead with Ganbina.
