LIBRARY AID'S SHIPMENT OF BOOKS AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES SPREAD FAR AND WIDE IN THE SOLOMON ISLANDS
The Solomon Islands is a sovereign country consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands located in Oceania, approximately 2,000 kilometers northeast of Australia, east of Papua New Guinea and northwest of Vanuatu. The total land area ry is approximately 28,896 square kilometres, making it the third-largest archipelagic state in the South Pacific. The capital city of Honiara, is located on the island of Guadalcanal.
All 1087 boxes from our March 2027 shipment have now been distributed to or collected by the schools. Beside the main Guadalcanal province, precious boxes of these resources were distributed to needy schools in some outer islands in the Isabel, Malaita and Temotu provinces. (See Map)

The container was housed at the Christian reformed Churches of Australia 'Supporting Workers in Missions (SWIM) Base near Honiara. Base Manager, Karin van Straten says, "Once again, thank you for making SWIM a part of this amazing contribution to education in Solomon Islands. Special thanks to Casper Hillary

The container was donated to SWIM to cover costs for customs clearance and transport of the container and distribution of its contents. It is not worth LAI having the container returned as this would involve costs for customs inspection, cleaning and shipping.
