Last week, 40 Shailer Park Guides and Leaders took part in the Springwood ANZAC Day service, marching in the parade and laying wreaths that they had made at Guides the week before.

We are incredibly proud of our girls who represented Girl Guides while honouring those who have and are fighting for us despite the rain!

🚨 We’re getting ready to launch Round 2 of our Play On! Sports Vouchers 🎾🏉

⚠️ Important reminder for families:
Every Queensland child aged 5 to 17 is eligible for one voucher per financial year. If your child received a Play On! Sports Voucher in Round 1 (August/September 2025), they won’t be eligible for this round — so there’s no need to jump online when applications open.

📅 Play On! Sports Vouchers Round 2 opens 29th January — let’s get more Queensland kids into sport and active recreation!

Alongside our Christmas celebrations, our Guides worked together to spread some Christmas cheer throughout our community.

Our Eccentric Wanderer Ranger Guide Unit organised and ran a fundraiser Christmas disco for the younger Guides, raising $230.00 for Operation Christmas Child.

The Impara Guide Unit made Christmas cards and some treats for the Queensland Fire Department to say thank you for their service.

The Explorer Guide Unit painted and packed 36 bags for Share the Dignity It's In The Bag Campaign.
They also collected gifts and placed them under the Kmart Wishing Tree during their Christmas break up.

Well done to all our Guides for going above and beyond thinking of others this holiday season.

We are so excited to share that our Shailer Park Eccentric Wanderer Ranger Guide Unit (high school aged girls) won first place in Share the Dignity's Creating Period Pride Competition!

We are incredibly proud of the advocacy, determination, teamwork and creativity displayed by all the girls throughout the whole process - their recognition is very well deserved!

There's still time to bring in donations for our It's In The Bag collection.
Our Explorer Guide Unit packed 40 bags last night!

After spending a night learning about periods and ending the stigma earlier in the year, our Ranger Guide Unit (high school aged girls) decided to enter the Share the Dignity Creating Period Pride Competition.

They worked hard throughout Term 3 to plan, write and film their entry to promote period pride with a Girl Guide twist!

With the judging happening this week, they are eagerly waiting to hear how they went and can’t wait to see some of the other entries.

A number of or Shailer Park Guides and Leaders spent the first week of the school holidays at Agoonoree 2025.

Agoonoree is a joint Guide and Scout camp where the patrols spend a week supporting their "Guests" (children with additional needs) to join in the camping experience.

We all had an amazing time at Agoonoree On Safari and enjoyed lots of activities including abseiling, laser tag, water activities, pioneering, escape rooms, disco night and carnival day!

This annual event is a wonderful service opportunity and our Guides and Leaders look forward to attending each year.
Will you be joining us for "Agoonoree On Screen" in 2026 as the camp celebrates its 45th year?
