We never want to miss anyone & there are so many incredible people working hard front of house, back of house, building, organising, cleaning, donating, and quietly holding up the house! ..every single day. This is just a small call out to a few, knowing there are many more who make this all possible.
💚
✨ Tanya Staffa & the Belmonte’s Italian Restaurant community thank you for your generosity and for the colourful and delicious Easter eggs… they were gone in an instant! 🐣🍫
✨ Blacktown Lions Club ~ a sincere thank you for your time, effort, and ongoing commitment to supporting those in need with tinned food collections and much more. Your practical, hands-on support for both our work and the wider community makes a real difference
✨ Leonie, Wilma and Trevor ~ thank you for your regular thoughtful donations of clothing and miscellaneous goodies and to Lorraine for your knitted warmth and love🧶
✨ Thank you to those amazing individuals ( you know who you are) for the financial donations - it is special indeed to have people value the work we do and help us in this way
✨Thank you to Rae's Graphics for putting the zing back into our old van - the new decal work looks wonderful and is now matching the truck ~ and of course special mention to Maddocks for the grant that helped make this possible 🚐
✨ Janelle & Phil, and the incredible Share the Dignity program your support goes far beyond providing essential hygiene items. What you do restores dignity, confidence, and a sense of self-worth to those doing it tough. The time, effort, and care that the “Sheroes” like Janelle and our very own Sarah put in behind the scenes is so often unseen, but never unappreciated. Your work truly changes lives in the most meaningful ways.
✨ Bianca and Barking with Bianca thank you for the doggie products and for always thinking of us and supporting in so many different ways and making sure the pets get some special care too 🐰🦊🐧🐶🙈
✨ and while talking pets - thank you to the Pets in the Park for providing vital veterinary care for the beloved pets of people who are doing it tough and simply cannot afford much needed medical attention for their pets. what a terrific program
✨ West Sydney Church of Christ ~ thank you for your faithful monthly supply of tinned food and ongoing kindness. A special mention to Jeni, Will, and Jake, who make it all happen behind the scenes, gathering, organising, and delivering to our door.🥫
✨ Humanity First ~ Thank you 💚for coming to visit with us for an evening's service and for your wonderful hands-on assistance and food support for the evening and for joining with us ongoing 🎉
✨Sts Peter And Paul Church Doonside ~ WOW 🎊thank you for your incredibly generous hampers of food and hygiene goods, along with your continued support
✨ Street Side Medics, especially Dr Andrew thank you for being there to provide specialised care to one of our volunteers when it was needed most this week 😇.
✨Sanjeev, the gardeners and carpenters at Parklea Correctional for the fresh veggies and the special wooden toys this week🚜

Because of ALL of you, we can continue to support those doing it tough in our community. Your compassion, generosity, and willingness to step up truly make a difference every single day.

✨And of course to all our green army angel volunteers ~ thank you 💚💛💚 for everything you do ALWAYS

Carevan Blacktown was privileged to be invited to take part in a Happy Senior's Week event at the Workers Lifestyle Group this week, manning (literally, thank you Andrew Scott) a table yesterday at the club, along with fellow organisations focused on both senior's well-being and enhanced community involvement

The Seniors Week for 2026 event, celebrates the important role senior citizens play in our community in so very many ways, and also the role groups like ours can play in supporting our community's senior though the support we offer and by involving them in the work we do.

This year’s Senior's Week theme, “Live Life in Colour,” encouraging seniors to embrace new experiences, build connections, and celebrate their life
https://www.nsw.gov.au/arts-and-culture/seniors-festival

Seniors are a truly valued and integral part of our volunteering and support networking community and of our green team of amazing humans - both at services and behind the scenes ~ helping through meal preparation, meal service, supporting with donations and connecting with others. We work to integrate and 'embrace' the knowledge and contribution this cohort have to offer as volunteers and supporters, which can only strengthen the work we strive to achieve within the community . 💚

On the flip side of this ~ Carevan Blacktown supports seniors, who form a large part of our patron community - seniors who face all the challenges of aging ~ limited mobility, declining health, access to services, financial pressure and social isolation These factors among others, make it difficult to access the basic needs of life and compromise well-being. We work hard each week to try to fill this gap by providing food ( and much more) within a welcoming space of community connection and care ~ helping a little way towards our senior patrons also to 'living a life of colour'

Huge thanks to Sharon and Shelly and the Workers lifestyle Group for their constant and unwavering support of Carevan Blacktown and our work - and as evidenced this week - of our community's senior citizens - helping care for them in so many ways.

Today’s Valentine’s Day BBQ at Bunnings Warehouse ~ filled with sausages, smiles, sweet treats and so much heart. Truly the loveliest kind of fundraising day

We had ( as always) extraordinary community support - due in no small part to the amazing spread of Valentine themed goodies and the best sausage sandwiches in the BBQ business ~ kindness and a whole lot of fun! Hard to make a sausage into a ‘heart theme’ - but we gave it a crack

A special shoutout to our incredible cup-cakers, cake bakers, slice makers, bickie batchers and jelly cup creators - sugar filled or gluten fress ~ every treat made with extra St V Day love and the tables looked absolutely amazing! 🧁🍰✨

Across the way our BBQ troopers were 'on the tongs' and keeping everything running smoothly- Lots of repeat customers (thank to Wrights Butcher Kellyville https://www.facebook.com/wrightstendermeat/ and some BBQ experts at the grill. We made some new community support contacts, lots of chats and sausage sandwiches galore ~ a great day 🌭👏

We are so incredibly blessed with our amazing green dream team of volunteers - each and every weekend BBQ, Tuesday evening Services and so much behind the scenes ~ Such an extraordinary bunch of generous, kind-hearted people and never more so than when we have a special event or a themed day like today's big red heart ❤️Day of Valentine LOVE

Thank YOU to everyone who made goodies, dropped home baked specialties off, popped in to support us and say 'Hi", or stayed to play for part (or all!) of the day ~ Our volunteers are like no other.💚

Xmas 2025 has been and gone and we are heading into 2026🎉 We are back at the Lalor Park Community Hall this Tuesday evening 6th January, 7pm for patrons, to kick off meal services for 2026...🎉🎊🎉

Thank you to our super CEO Andrew who has continued throughout the little hiatus between Xmas events and the new year commencing - He has been home delivering food, hampers and toys throughout and working behind the scenes - so too have a number of our green dream team volunteers with lots of tidying, cleaning and sorting while things were a little less busy - lots to do... always 💚

A lovely little video which speaks volumes ~ Thank you Chelsea Soames for this awesome work 📽️capturing the spirit of the day, in putting together this special montage of a very full and fun day's Xmas event .... and for all the work you did with us across the season 🎄 - and to the Laing+Simmons Quakers Hill / Schofields team who introduced you to us - and our own lovely Ursula who started the connection 💚

Happy New Year all - see you in it 🎉

What an incredible year of support, love and care for the Carevan Blacktown team and the community we serve .

The Carevan Blacktown community truly shines at Christmas and, frankly, all year round... but this festive season has been truly amazing

Our community joined together to care for people in need, from well-established programs and organisations to school groups, childcare centres, families and individuals reaching out to help.

We received support from far and wide, old friends and new - local Blacktown LGA communities to teams reaching out from Melbourne and Brisbane with support of all kind - traditional and new.

Together, you provided happiness, added a lot of sparkle to Christmas for folks who might otherwise have none, see no-one receive no Christmas cheer ~ Together we created a communal table where festive spirit could be shared.

We’ve welcomed new supporters and been embraced once again by long-time partners.
We’ve received toys, food and clothing donations, and Christmas hampers from far and wide ~ from people collecting thoughtfully over many months to last-minute dashes to fill a gap in the Santa sacks.

From beautiful handmade baubles and wooden toys, boxes and boxes of toys, food and food hampers to a Christmas feast to rival Nigella’s table, the generosity has been extraordinary.

Santa dropped by on his way back to the workshop, and we were supported by an amazing team of green-angel volunteers, both new and familiar.

We are blessed indeed

Thank you for being part of our Christmas Carevan Blacktown season 🎄💚🎄💚🎄💚🎄

little video below of thanks for our supporters - there are sooooo many people to thank and the list is not exhaustive, but its a good start ~ 💚 ~

A huge thank you to our awesome volunteer team for all your help at the Bunnings BBQ and cake stall, and a market stall to boot ~over a sweltering weekend 🌞We weren’t deterred… well, maybe just a little … The Chrissy themed cakes, bakes and decorations around the cake stall and the BBQ, were fantastic and really made the day and we had an all round super star ✨fundraising couple of days🎄

Thank you all for giving so generously of your time, your BBQing and baking skills, and yet more care in support of Carevan
Blacktown and the community we serve.

THANK YOU to SKLPS https://www.facebook.com/SKLPSNSW and to Rebel and the team at Blacktown City Lions Club for their huge donation of non perishables and other goodies for Xmas and the new year all delivered to the warehouse today🌟

And huge thank you to the gentle gentlemen from Saints Peter and Paul Church Doonside https://www.facebook.com/saintspeterandpaulrootyhill/ who met us at Bunnings and, as we bbq'd, loaded up a literal van-full of hamper items for adults and children 💚 simply amazing !!

We truly couldn’t do this without you all ... or without our amazing supporters and community from far and wide which continues to provide us in serving up seasonal love and support ~

But wait, there's still a little more ....

What a week ~ and we’re not done yet 💚

On December 16th, we held our big, wonderful Christmas meal service, serving over 370 people and there’s still more to come.

As we head into Christmas week, we’re still packing, unpacking, and receiving goods, donations, and support of all kinds. we've been invited to and held functions and presentations, sports days and fairs and our amazing community has helped us collect mountains of toys, hygiene goodies, Christmas items, and food donations from schools, companies, businesses, fellow charities and individuals alike to make this season a truly sparkly one for people in need of some Christmas care 💫

We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we have received, in so many ways, but none more so than the incredible number of volunteers, our regular green angels and new friends alike, showing up at the hall on Tuesday 16th like we’ve never seen before, to prepare for, deliver and clean up at the Christmas event - truly fantastic - never were we more a force for good than on Tuesday evening!

Our supporters far and wide ~ individuals and companies, old friends and new ~ have helped bring this big, beautiful Christmas and New Year season together over many, many months, and it’s still going. We truly couldn’t do this without you all... volunteers and supporters alike.

Our tremendous green angel volunteer team will be out again fundraising on weekend and again on Christmas Day with a morning breakfast BBQ (8:30–11:00am) at Lalor Park Community Centre and there will be many more 'thank-you's and gratitude posts coming soon once everything slows down a little💚

For now, a little snippet taken from our CEO Andrew Scott's volunteer message the next day ~ He who never stops himself ~ though he did pause just long enough to put these lovely words together after the Christmas dinner this week..... the message applies equally to supporters and volunteers alike who made Tuesday evening happen 😇

"Last night was nothing short of extraordinary.

Together, more than 80 volunteers came together to lovingly serve 373 people from our Blacktown community, and in doing so, created a Christmas evening filled with dignity, warmth, and genuine human connection. What you gave was far more than a meal. You gave hope, belonging, and a sense that people truly matter.

At a time when Sydney, and our wider world, needs to show more love, patience, and respect for one another than ever before, you were the living example of what that looks like. The kindness, grace, and generosity shown by every volunteer last night was deeply moving. You gave of yourselves freely and selflessly so that others could experience joy, comfort, and Christmas spirit, many of whom may not have felt that otherwise.

The atmosphere was incredible. There was laughter, conversation, smiles, and a powerful sense of togetherness. It was Christmas in its truest form, and it happened because each of you chose to show up with open hearts and willing hands."

We will post more thank you notes over the next week or so and some special film shortly too, but in the meantime Thank You ALL so very much 🎄💚🎄
