حوار الأديان، طاولة واحدة تجمع الأديان.. قراءة في ملتقى "المستقبل المشترك" ببرلمان نيوساوث ويلز
بدعوة كريمة من الجالية الهندية، سعدتُ بحضور ملتقى حوار الأديان الذي نظمته مؤسسة "الهنود في سيدني" في مكتبة برلمان ولاية نيوساوث ويلز، تحت شعار يحمل أبعاداً إنسانية عميقة: "المستقبل المشترك – التعاون بين الأديان من أجل السلام والازدهار".
شهد الملتقى حضوراً رسمياً رفيعاً، تقدّمه رئيس وزراء الولاية السيد كريس مينز، إلى جانب كوكبة من الوزراء، النواب، وقادة الجاليات ورجال ونساء الدين. ومما استوقفني في الكلمات الافتتاحية ما أكده رئيس الوزراء ومؤسس الجمعية نديم أحمد، من أن التنوع الثقافي يحتاج دائماً إلى ركيزتي الثقة والاحترام المتبادل لضمان مجتمع متماسك.
وقد أجمع المتحدثون خلال اللقاء على الإشادة بالدور الريادي والاستثنائي الذي تؤديه الجالية الهندية في المجتمع الأسترالي؛ ليس فقط في تنظيم مثل هذه اللقاءات الحضارية التي تبني الجسور بين الجميع، بل وفي كافة المجالات الحيوية، مثل قطاعات التعليم والصحة، مروراً بمساهمتها القوية والمؤثرة في سوق العمل والاقتصاد، وصولاً إلى حضورها الثقافي والاجتماعي المتميز الذي بات ركيزة أساسية في دعم نهضة أستراليا وتعدديتها. وبحكم أنني شخص من أصول سودانية، حظيتُ بقضاء جزء مهم وغالٍ من حياتي التعليمية في الهند، هذا النموذج العالمي الملهم للتنوع والتعايش، والتي تُلقّب بحق كأكبر ديمقراطية في العالم، والآن أعيش في أستراليا، فإنني أقدّر تماماً وأثمن دور إخوتنا في الجالية الهندية. إن خلفيتهم الثقافية القائمة على استيعاب التنوع وإدارته بحكمة تظهر بوضوح في إسهاماتهم الإيجابية هنا في أستراليا.
أما الحدث الأبرز في الأمسية، فكان الجلسة الحوارية المستديرة بين أعضاء ممثلين بارزين عن مختلف الديانات؛ حيث كان مشهداً استثنائياً وفريداً من نوعه أن نرى في مكان واحد حاخاماً يهودياً، وإماماً مسلماً، وقسيساً مسيحياً، ورهباناً بوذيين، وزعيماً هندوسياً، وممثلاً عن الديانة السيخية، يجلسون معاً ويتناقشون في نفس القضايا بكل هدوء واحترام متبادل.
هذا التناغم جعلنا جميعاً نلمس عمق القيم الإنسانية المشتركة التي تجمع بين الأديان في القضايا المطروحة، وأكّد لنا أن ما ينقص مجتمعاتنا دائماً هو هذا النوع من "الحوار الذكي والبنّاء"؛ فهو الوسيلة الأقوى لإذابة الجليد، وتفكيك الصور النمطية والأفكار المغلوطة، وبناء جسور التواصل بدلاً من جدران العزلة، مع التركيز على دور الشباب في تعزيز هذه القيم.
خرجنا من هذا الملتقى برؤية واضحة: الحوار الصادق بين الأديان والثقافات ليس مجرد مجاملة اجتماعية، بل هو ضرورة أساسية لبناء مجتمع متنوع، متعافٍ، ومستقر، يعيش فيه الجميع على أساس الاحترام والتعاون المتبادل.
One Table, Many Faiths: Reflections on the "Shared Future" Forum at the NSW Parliament
At the gracious invitation of the Indian community, I had the pleasure of attending the Interfaith Dialogue Forum organized by the "Indians in Sydney" association. Held at the NSW Parliament House Library, the event carried a deeply profound theme: "A Shared Future – Interfaith Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity."
The forum drew a high-profile official and political presence, led by the NSW Premier, Mr. Chris Minns, alongside a distinguished group of ministers, MPs, community leaders, and religious figures. What struck me most in the opening remarks, particularly from the Premier and the association's founder, Nadeem Ahmed, was the emphasis that cultural diversity must always be anchored by trust and mutual respect to ensure a cohesive society.
All the speakers throughout the event praised the leading and exceptional role that the Indian community plays in Australian society. This is evident not only in organizing such civilized gatherings that build bridges between everyone, but also across all vital sectors. This includes their excellence in the fields of education and healthcare, their strong and influential contribution to the workforce and the economy, and their outstanding cultural and social presence, which has become a cornerstone in supporting Australia's progress and multiculturalism.
As someone of Sudanese descent who had the privilege of spending an important and cherished part of my educational life in India, a truly inspiring global model of diversity and coexistence, rightfully dubbed the world's largest democracy, and now living in Australia, I deeply appreciate and value the role of our brothers and sisters in the Indian community. Their cultural background, rooted in embracing and wisely managing diversity, clearly shines through their positive contributions here in Australia.
The true highlight of the evening was the roundtable discussion among prominent representatives of various religions. It was a remarkably unique and exceptional sight to see a Jewish Rabbi, a Muslim Imam, a Christian Priest, Buddhist Monks, a Hindu Leader, and a Sikh Representative sitting together around one table, discussing the same societal issues with such calmness and mutual respect.
This beautiful harmony allowed all of us in attendance to witness the depth of the universal human values shared across these faiths in the issues discussed. It served as a powerful reminder that what our communities often lack is this exact type of "smart and constructive dialogue."It is the ultimate tool to break the ice, dismantle stereotypes and misconceptions, and build bridges of communication instead of walls of isolation, with a vital focus on the role of youth in carrying these values forward.
We left this forum with a clear conviction: sincere dialogue between different faiths and cultures is not just a polite social courtesy; it is an absolute necessity for building a diverse, resilient, and stable society where everyone can thrive on mutual respect and cooperation.
